I would spend a couple more hundred and get a real MPC if you absolutly want to go that route. that thing is a toy, I'd rather have a korg electribe in that price range

I wouldn't get it. I'm sure it's fun to fuck with, especially when traveling just to lay down some ideas. But other than that, it's just a drum machine, shit is limited. An MPC is way better. Going the software route is better IMO when going for sounds, these days.

what do ya think of the mpk 49? is the drum machine as good as the xr20?
I'd rather get it. But it's just a controller. You'll need to supply yourself with your own sounds. I'm sure the pads are solid, but then again you can always use the keys to lay down your drums.

I have an M-Audio Axiom49, basically the same shit, for less.
