Thanks for breaking the news on here.
So I went and looked on the usual boxing sites to see the outrage and ridicule over this and it looks pretty tame, which is kind fucked up considering there are fighters like pacquiao who never tested positive but still had critics chasing them for years.
Yeah it's nowhere near the height of the Pacquiao Mayweather hysteria and hopefully the fanbase never gets that insane again. You see a lot more level headed people, but you'll see both sides people calling him a cheater and people giving him the benefit of thr doubt.
Breaks down to three camps really:
- fans who buy the tainted meat excuse
- fans who have heard this excuse a dozen times too many.
-fans who believe all top athletes are on PEDs.
But look, bottom line is this could be cleared up by releasing the test results. If say, for example, Nelo took a test Monday, he was clean, but on Thursday he has very, very small traces in his test, and his immediate next test is a fraction of that, ok cool, that would be consistent with some sort of tainted meat. But if say, he hadn't been tested in weeks and he tests dirty on the first test, well then that's suspicious as fuck.
What I don't like about this is that this drug is used primarily for two things - cutting weight and for bettering your stamina. Which just so happen to be the two things canelo has a history of struggling with (he's missed weight multiple times and his stamina has been known to be average to poor). It's a pretty wild coincidence.
