I think Broner wants to see how he does against a 147 pounder first and if he can also get a title at the same time then why not. It would be another belt to add to what he had already won. Obviously then if he wins he would then go down to the tougher division feeling more confident about fighting better fighters since he just won a fight at 147. Its just a test to see how he can do against a decent champion in a bigger weight class. Atleast he is trying to fight a bigger guy than someone like Canelo who trys to fight smaller guys lol. Got Em!!

Ummmm Broner is moving up 2 weight classes to go after a world championship. What dont u understand??? Got Em!!

Great fucking article and I agree with every word. Who da fuck does Canelo and his camp think he is to try to demand a fight with Floyd & Sergio and that the fight will be in Texas with open scoring???? Thats the funniest shit I have ever heard! First off like the article said he is way to big for Floyd and he needs to fight fighters his own damn size and quit trying to beat up on little dudes. 2ndly he thinks if he could land fights with the likes of Floyd & Serg that he and his camp would call the shots on where the fight will take place??? Thats to funny! This dude needs to give Trout his rematch but I know they wont because they know how close the last fight was and Trout would do even better the 2nd time around. Boy this Canelo and his camp crack me up day after day with some if the shit that comes out of there. Got Em!!

Bro you make Canelo fans laugh just as much. First off, he is too big for Floyd? Mayweather fans already making excuses as to why 1 - they should never fight or 2 - if they fought why Floyd would lose.

Im guessing you say he is too big because of his fight night weight?

Floyd has been fighting people smaller than him for years. Can you tell me how much he has weight on his fight nights in any of his last 3 fights???

You can't.

Paulie is basically a 140 pound fighter himself, he's not a big guy. That's where he mostly fought. Khan, Hatton and Cotto were all at 140. He moved to 147 cuz of bigger names and/or a title opportunity.
Oh I know but regardless I think its still a small test to see his transition moving up. If he fares well against Paulie then it will be on to bigger and better things. I think its smart to fight him first and then move on to the big dogs. Remember he is still very young but against atleast he is moving up fighting bigger guys. I think its an ok fight but after that fight it will then be time to wrestle with the big guns. Got Em!!

How do I make Canelo fans laugh? Dude so u are telling me that Mayweather outweighs his opponents by 25 pounds each fight? Even if we dont know his weight on fight night he never looks even close to being bigger than another guy by 20-25 pounds. If he were to fight Canelo there would legitimately be about a 20 pound difference at least. Simple as that. Tell your guy to move up and fight people his own damn size and quit trying to fight little cats. Simple as that. I bet he wont fight GGG or Ward because he knows he would get his ass beat! Got Em!!

If Floyd doesn't want to fight at 154 he needs to vacate his WBA 154 pound belt simple as that.

When Pacquiao won a vacant belt at 154, at a catchweight of 150, he immediately gave up the belt and said never again.

Floyd has had this belt since Cotto and has never stated he would not defend it.

As far as the boxing world is considered, Floyd is currently champion in two weight classes.

Oh I hear ya but I just hate when cats fight in a division that is way to small for them. Same with Chavez Jr who should atleast be fighting at 168 anyway. Floyd fought Cotto at 154 and they were similar size so it works but when dudes try to stay in a division when they are 20-25 pounds heavier is just rediculous. That brings me back to the fight night weight issue. There needs to be a limit so that way cats would be forced to fight in the right division so that when they blew back up to their natural weight they wouldnt be over the limit. Got Em!!

That's the nature of the game. Almost everyone does it besides a few guys like Pacquiao, Floyd, Rigondeaux etc.

The WBC has a rule that the fighters can't rehydrate more than 10% by next day. WBA i guess doesn't have such rules.

Anyways, I don't think Canelo's size would be too much of an issue for Floyd, Canelo is a boxer puncher so its not like he'd be on his ass all fight long imposing his size. I'm sure Donaire out weighed Rigondeaux by at least 15 pounds but because of the style match up the size difference proved to be irrelevant.

I hear you and all but look what Martinez did to Chavez Jr. 180 lb ass.

And look what Mayweather did to Victor Ortiz.

Weight don't matter that much when you are fighting upper level competition.

And sure Ward would be Canelo, I won't deny that. But I still think it would be a decent fight.

Canelo is 22 fucking years old and he is winning. Lets congratulate.

Oh I know guys do it and i think its weak. Yes Donaire may have outweighed Rigo by 15 pounds and while Rigo won the fight he ran pretty much the whole fight and still got put on his ass. If Floyd fought Canelo he would have to fight exactly the same and run like he hasnt run before and i dont wanna see that. I mean its ok to move and hit move and hit but in some cases its to much. I have never seen Rigo run that much before have u? Got Em!!

Same with Martinez, while he still makes it look good he had to use his feet a great deal against Chavez because he knew he couldnt take to many of his heavy punches. You see he also almost got ko'd. Smaller guys can beat these bigger guys by outboxing them but there is no way they could stop them but they could be stopped easily if they didnt stick and move as much. Its just a different game plan. So if Floyd wants to fight Canelo thats on him but while we have seen floyd fight defensively in the past and move with his feet, I think he would take that to another level fighting someone as big and strong as Canelo. Its to dangerous. Oh and I dont think Ortiz was a good example? No way was he 20 pounds heavier than Mayweather. Got Em!!

Rigondeaux wasn't running though. He, like Floyd or Bernard Hopkins, is a master at keeping just the right amount of distance to stay out of harms way, set up.counter shots and use , beat the opponent to the punch, and lateral movement when need be. The only running that occurred was Donaire in the 12th when he was hurt.

Also, the knock down occurred during a break of a clinch, Rigondeaux clearly thought the ref was coming in to break them up and Donaire hit him. One of those "protect yourself at all times moment". Rigo wasn't even hurt though.

Dude if u watch the last couple of Rigo fights before Donaire and he didnt nearly move away as much as he did against Donaire. I notice these things. I mean it was smart but thats because of Donaire's power and size difference. Some fights u stick and move more than others depending on opponent. Maybe u took my term to literally but Donaire had to literally chase him down all fight. Got Em!!

Cant wait for this fight. Poor Paulie lol. Got Em!!

I disagree completely, Donaire didn't have to chase him down, most of the fight Rigondeaux was right there the problem is either Donaire jumped in and got countered, missed completely, landed only one shot at a time or Rigo would beat him to the punch while Donaire was trying to figure out to do. Rigondeaux out classed Donaire just like Floyd would out class Canelo. Size isn't really an issue when the footwork and ring IQ are on different levels.

I have all of Rigondeaux fights and the only fight he was pretty aggressive was against Rico Ramos and that was because he hurt Ramos early and just about everytime he hit him.

Well we can just agree to disagree. Great game plan but running is running. I aint mad at him though because Sergio & Floyd at times do it also but its smart and they do it when needed. Its smart not to get hit lol. Got Em!!

When Broner was confronted by The Ghost, how much did Broner say he weighed at that moment? Then he fights Gavin Rees at 134, right? That's almost a 20 lb difference right? I think he'll be going up and down weight divisions for a couple of years so he won't be a mandatory and start fighting dudes when they are beat up and past their prime. But it's okay as along as he's putting in work, and not getting delt with, right CZAR @CZAR ?

Rigo boxed he didn't run. A few times he dipped out of the ropes or whatever but wasn't running. This was running, from Donaire, in the same fight:
