Ice-T To Host Fox’s Investigative Crime Special “Who Shot Biggie & Tupac”

Johnny Tergo/FOX has tapped legendary rapper and actor Ice-T, as well as journalist Soledad O’Brien, to host its two-hour investigative crime special Who Shot Biggie & Tupac.

According to the network, the new special will examine the unsolved murders of former friends Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls, who were gunned down within months of each other in the late 1990s.

Shakur was fatally shot in a drive-by in Las Vegas in September 1996, while Smalls, born Christopher Wallace, was killed by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in March 1997.

The special, which arrives 20 years after the rap legends’ deaths, will explore the various theories as to why their murders are still unsolved and what could have contributed to their untimely deaths.

It will also feature interviews with former private investigators, police officers, informants and hip-hop insiders.

In addition, the rappers friends’, including Doug E. FreshFunkmaster FlexLil’ CeaseE.D.I. Meanand former Death Row Records executive Suge Knight, were interviewed for the special.

Who Shot Biggie & Tupac airs Sunday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
