am i tripping or wasn't there a perk to upgrade your laser damage or does that just go up when you do gun slinger and the rifle perks
laser pistols = the pistol perks laser rifles = automatic lasers = automatic perks

there are magazines that raise laser damage, as well as ones that raise ballistics damage

https://imgur.com/gallery/iGAgA

Tesla Science
Each issue of this publication offers the same perk: energy weapons will permanently inflict +5% Critical Damage for each magazine found, up to +45% for nine magazines total.

New DLC announced:
https://bethesda.net/#en/events/game.../2016/02/16/77

This is perfect for me since I'm back playing Witcher 3 and will be for a month probably, so by the time I finish that I can hop on the DLC (already got the season pass for $20 a long time ago). Capturing and taming creatures and having them fight other creatures or even your settlers sounds awesome. Robot companions and shit hell yeah.

Worth pointing out the season pass is currently available for $29 and after March 1st it will be $50. There will be more DLC later as well so if you're into that stuff the season pass is worth it (you will get all future DLC with that $29 season pass, otherwise you have to pay for each DLC which would come out to around $100 I'm guessing).

Cool. To be honest I forgot where I last left off, but im almost positive it was after buying the overseers rifle lol. just burnt out had the game on the highest difficulty and was just mindlessly blasting shit with ease. i want to start from scratch eventually maybe make my character level a little bit slower to keep it challenging, might be fun to just start over and play the dlc with a fresh character, or once i get to the level recommendation

This is why I didn't do the idiot savant and stuff like that on my two play throughs because after playing previous fallouts I learned you become over powered mid way through the game as you level up, so to keep it more challenging I made character builds with very low strength and low endurance, as well as rarely use power armor and just stick to leathers and avoiding certain perks (like Macreadys broken headshot perk, etc), and being a bit conscious of my weapons (like I wouldn't keep anything too overpowered, like if I were to find let's say an exploding mini gun, I'd keep that at my house). I like being extremely vulnerable to damage, which makes it more exciting coming across potential foes knowing that a couple gunners could easily kill me if I'm not smart. Sticking to pistols like the .44, even though highly powerful, can still be a challenge taking on multiple enemies at a time even later in the game since it's only got 6 non automatic shots.

But yeah I'm definitely taking a break right now playing Witcher 3 (I can't stop playing fucking Gwent wtf!) so the DLC will be fresh.

Im late to the party but man this game is dope. I forgot how wack the map is lol. I love how you dont have to open things to see whats inside them. I dont know how I feel about the weapon mods yet. I usually dont have the patience. I purposely dont really watch previews and anything so i can enjoy the game more. Been a Fallout addict, i know i would never be disappointed

Damn this is worth a new play through after the DLC comes out in itself. Game is going to be no joke. No saving, no fast travel, etc.??

Fallout 4 Survival Mode Full Overview (extracted from in-game files)

Is the struggle of this world merely a pleasant game for you? Do you long for a more brutal take on a life lived post apocalypse? If you answered "Yes and yes!", then Survival difficulty is for you! Survival upends many of the rules of life in the Commonwealth for maximum challenge. For a full list of these changes, see below.

To enable Survival, press [Pause], select "Settings," then "Gameplay" and choose "Survival" from the "Difficulty" options.

Saving
Manual and quicksaving are disabled. To save your game, you'll need to find a bed and sleep for at least an hour.

Combat
Combat is more lethal for everyone. You now deal, but also take, more damage. You can increase the damage you deal even further with "Adrenaline" (see below).

Fast Travel
Fast Travel is disabled. If you wish to be somewhere, you'll have to physically travel there.

Weighted Ammo
Bullets and shells now all have a small amount of weight, which varies by caliber. Heavier items such as fusion cores, rockets, and mini-nukes can really drag you down.

Compass
Be sure to keep your eyes peeled, as enemies will no longer appear on your compass. As well, the distance at which locations of interest will appear has been significantly shortened.

Adrenaline
Survival automatically grants the Adrenaline perk, which provides a bonus to your damage output. Unlike other perks, the only way to increase your rank of the Adrenaline perk is by getting kills (hostile or otherwise). The higher your Adrenaline rank, the higher the damage bonus. Sleeping for more than an hour, however, will cause your Adrenaline rank to lower. You can check your current Adrenaline rank at any time in the Perks section on the Stat tab in your Pip-Boy.

Wellness
You'll find it difficult to survive without taking proper care of yourself. You must stay hydrated, fed, and rested to remain combat-ready. Going for extended periods of time without food, water, or sleep will begin to adversely affect your health, hurting your SPECIAL stats, adding to your Fatigue (see "Fatigue" below), lowering your immunity (see "Sickness" below), and eventually even dealing physical damage to you.

Fatigue
Fatigue works like radiation but affects your Action Points (AP) rather than your Hit Points (HP). The more Fatigue you've built up, the less AP you'll have for other actions. The amount of Fatigue you've accumulated is displayed in red on your AP bar.

Sickness
A comprised immune system and a few questionable decisions can end up getting you killed. Eating uncooked meat, drinking unpurified water, taking damage from disease-ridden sources, such as ghouls and bugs, or using harmful Chems all put your body at increased risk for various ill effects. When you are afflicted with an illness, a message will appear onscreen. You can view specifics about your current illnesses by navigating to the Status section on your Pip-Boy's Data tab and pressing [RShoulder] to view your active effects.

Antibiotics
Antibiotics, which can be crafted at Chem Stations or purchased from doctors, heal the various effects of sickness.

Bed Types
The type of bed you're sleeping in determines the length of time you are able to stay asleep. A sleeping bag will save your game and may help save your life when you're desperate, but it will never allow for a full night's rest and the benefits that come with it.

Crippled Limbs
Crippled limbs will no longer auto-heal after combat and will remain crippled until healed by a Stimpak.

Carry Weight

Exceeding your carry weight reduces your Endurance and Agility stats and periodically damages your legs and health. Think of your back!

Companions
Companions will no longer automatically get back up if downed during combat and will return home if abandoned without being healed.

Enemy and Loot Repopulation
Locations you've cleared will now repopulate enemies and loot at a significantly slower rate.

fuck that, im already finding the game is to hard compared to previous fallouts. No saves no thanks. I quick save whenever im low on health. Then again i dont believe in using stimpacks. I try to keep as much as possible for the end.

I really havent figured out the Armor mods really. All i got is this stupid lab coat and have improved armor on my arms, legs, and chest.

You can save by going to bed for at least one hour. They had that same feature on New Vegas survival mode if I recall. But really this is all about making the game much more challenging, which a lot of people find the game a bit too easy later in the game as you level up a lot. This will require much more planning and overall more intense situations where you really are going to try to avoid dying at all costs.

More awesome news is modding is coming in June for the PS4, which is pretty amazing since this has always been PC exclusive in the past. This means endless amounts of cool shit to improve the game (I'm sure crafting will get immensely better for example). Is this a first? I don't know of any other console games that are open to a modding community. Surely it's not going to be nearly as deep or cool as PCs and there's probably some sort of guidelines involved (so probably no nude Piper or Cait lol) but still it's pretty awesome of them to do this and recognize how important the modding community is to this franchise and gaming in general and bringing it to consoles. This will extend the lifespan of the game for a couple years I'd imagine.

Yeah I don't consume chems either I usually sell all my chems at the Diamond City market. Didn't know you get more than 1, I thought it was a one and done type of find. Now that I know you come across more I think I'll drink it to see what happens.

Don't know how you guys don't use chems, they are life savers. Drinking alcohol gives you more carrying weight which is useful, psycho jet and any other that slows down time are awesome when you're near death or overwhelmed by enemies. I just keep a couple addictol in my inventory in case I get addicted which clears addiction instantly.
