before the repress flooded the music industry, the OG used to sell for $300+ on any given day.....same with Psycho Ballin 4 Life and etc....
both Psycho and Dre was goin for $150-$200+ at the time.
then some egay sellers increased the price with $300+ buy it now options.
i even witnessed some buyin it and re-sellin it on their auctions for a double $.

I received my copy in the mail today, and I'm not too pleased with it. I guess I saw so much hype for it and saw the prices for it, and thought it'd be some of the best sounding shit ever. But I'm not really feelin' this album.

So I'm going to just sell my copy, either on here or ebay. I haven't decided yet.

Well I've only listened to it a couple of times ever, so maybe it just has to soak in?

I'm listening to it right now, and nothing has changed. Still don't think much of this album lol

I like that troubled mind CD but I feel you 100% that a lot of these rare hella expensive CDs are hyped up. A lot of them are plain crap but they fetch high prices just because they are rare. Like a homie on this board once said "collecting rare rap records doesn't necessarily mean collecting good music" LOL.

I'm more disappointed with Ballers ona mission's the reala ride, which I found to be pretty mediocre even though it was hyped to be THE dopest rap record ever...

Of course there's a difference if you bought the record when it came out instead of 10-15 years after its release, something that may explain why some records have legendary status today even though they aren't all that. some records sound fresh even after 15 years while other just feel outdated to "new" listeners

this is all very true!
but for me in some cases i got a reverse reaction, when first LIL WYNO - STEP INTO MY WORLD and DEADLY GAME CLIQUE - PROPOSITIONZ came out i doint feel em at all, but finally last year i had a chance to find em and add em up into collection.
