Columbia recording artist Xzibit was attacked at the weekend by a group of gang members in what was described as a cowardly attack. The unprovoked attack was instigated after gang members recognised who Xzibit was on a night out in Los Angles. The gang was apparently not happy with the 'gang related' lyrics that X spits on his albums and jumped him.

Xzibit was out with his fiancee in LA without bodyguards when the attack occured. He required medical attention and received around 50 stitches. Despite widespread speculation, the incident while serious, will not affect his rapping career. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The attack comes after weeks of specualtion about Xzibit's career. The rumour mill has him trying to leave his current Columbia / Sony Records recording contract to join up with Eminem and Shady Records. So far, word is that Columbia will not release him from the deal.

^^^^^^^^^^I agree, I have seen him in concerts and he'll come out in flue chucks and flue bandana hanging to the floor while riding a flue lowrider bike. He thinking he is a crip and shit, I know the blue diamond crips in Fresno were calling him out to see what was up, he was all walking around the stage staring till he saw some rip-ridaz trying to see if he was really one of them. and I aslo hear that it was mexican cholos who did it, but I heard it was cause he tried to shine them on when they were approaching him. They were on some "look there is xzhibit" wanting to get autographs and shit, but He ignored and they let him have it.

I agree aint no big thang that happened to him. All of us that bang know that this is an everyday thang. If he gonna try to front and fake being a crip, by all means I am happy he got, got. Teach him and other nonbangers this life is real. and I aint happy he got fucked up I am glad that it happened cause he fronted on the lifestyle.

I heard from a couple of reliable sources that Xzibit is affiliated to a crip set in LA, which gives him as much right to flag that shit as Snoop.

Anyway, I seen him in concert too and he wasn't blue'd up.
