XBOX360 to PC problems...

Any one know whats going on with my xbox and pc? I tried hooking up my pc through an ethernet wire to my xbox. i got my pc hooked up to my router then my xbox connected to my router. The xbox test shows that it detects the wire and could find the pc. But the xbox is having problems finding an ip address or something. I have wmplayer 11, so that cant be the problem. I also tried connecting my pc straight to my xbox.

The only thing I really want to do is send some of my mp3s into my xbox with my pc harddrive. I really dont care for playing online. Any way I can do this without having to rip all my cds into the xbox? Also, am I able to download demos or upgrades without needing a membership to xbox live? All I want to do is dl some demos and other shit.

U Gotta Hook It Up Thru USB I Beileve, When Your PC Detects The Xbox360, You Should Have A New Drive Showing In Your "My Computer"

Then Juss Drag And Drop Albums, Games And Whatnot Into The Selected Drive

No...you've got everything set up right. I have the same set up. I don't even think you need the IP settings for streaming from the PC. You do have to put your media files in your "Shared Folder". Go to "My Computer" you should see the shared folder there. Pictures, Video and Audio. You also have to turn on Media Sharing in Media Player 11 and set the permissions for the 360 to access the shared folder. That should do it.

i tried the usb thing, but im still having problems. The computer isnt picking the connection up. I did the ethernet route, i used my laptop to the xbox and it picked it up. but right now all i could do is play music from my laptop to my xbox. I dont see an icon of my xbox where i can drag and drop music files into it, how do I do that?

Yep exactly right....or if you have an iPod or other MP3 player you can just hook it up via USB and you can play the music from the Mp3 player

But only way to get the Mp3's onto the Xbox HD is to make a CD and rip em....can only stream from PC to Xbox.

ahhhhh, damn really? damn!!! My comp is in another room from my xbox, and I dont really want my laptop sitting on the floor next to my xbox just to hear music.

Oh ya, what games are out there where you could play and listen to your own music? I got saints row, but Im not sure what station to listen to for my own music.

thanks for the help, but whats Armen (post above about drag and drop) talking about then?

oh ya, and how to I get that frees silver membership? I just wanna try out some demos
