Linksys is one of the best, buy one and it comes with a cd that pretty much installs itself you just type in a couple of things and its set up. also if you have dsl or cable you can buy a new dsl or cable modem with wireless built into it. which i personally think is better then buying a router. cus the modem is a modem and router in 1.

yeah, at&t dsl is what i got too. i had a linksys router and it works fine but every once in a while you gotta reset the router for some reason unknown. but ever since i got the modem with the wireless built into it and got rid of that router everything has worked perfect. the tech support dude recommended me that method.

i bought the Zoom ADSL x6 modem. the one he recommended was 2wire (some model number) but best buy didnt have it, they only had the zoom one.

I have a 2wire modem already and when I bought the adapter I bought it assuming thats all i needed and the wireless would just come from my modem but it isnt so I need a router. Ive been looking up routers and so far Linkys seems like everyones favorite.

Hows the range for it?

it usually works within your house unless you got some solid concrete walls. right now the router im using in college is about 20 feet from my xbox and 2 walls away and its still perfect (or un-noticable lag free). the only thing about getting a router is for some reason once a month or whatever its goiing to have to be power cycled (which means unplug it and wait 20 seconds and plug it back in) thats the only complaint i have with the routers. and its not jsut me everyone i know who has one says the same shit. not just linksys either. so far back at home that wireless modem hasnt needed to be reset.

My modem just might be a wireless built in. It has 5 lil ticker thinks that flash green one is for power another for ethernet one for dsl one for internet and one for wireless. all of them are glowing green except for the wireless one which has a very light green.
