This site will explain everything you need to know about changing your IP Address. However, going through a proxy server alone will not hide your IP address. You also have to disable your Java virtual machine...which somehow relays your IP and be sure to look up the NIC Handle and how to change it....because if you don't change this....everything else you do is useless. Your identity and location can still be found even through a proxy if you don't use it right. To disable the Java Virtual machine...go to Tools>Internet Options> Click the Advanced tab>Scroll down to where it says Java console enabled. and uncheck the box. Then restart your p.c. The only downfall is that alot of sites rely on Java to work correctly. You will be able to view some flash sites...but those sites wont function they way they are supposed to...links don't work in a flash file if the JVM is disabled. Here's a link with a brief description of what a NIC Handle is.
