I am curious, who on here used to post on the old www.n2deep.com message board? I used to read the posts but I never registered...that was back around June 2001, right before So Cold came out. Jay Tee, how long have you had your own website? Back before 2001, I didn't even know about BART or the SICCNESS or any of that shit. Before that, I was lucky enough to have seen 24-7-365 in one store here in Kansas back in 1994 and then the same thing with the Golden State in 1997. And I was lucky too because I only saw one copy of The golden State and one copy of 24-7-365 in the store which was a Hastings store. Then in 1998, I saw The Rumble, which they had a lot more copies of in stock. I'm guessing that had something to do with the Rumble and some other Swerve releases in 1998 being distributed by WEA? At Hastings, they have carried Murder Dog and 4080 since their early days, but I must have missed any issues they had with any N2DEEP related articles. But then in 2000, Murder Dog is how I found out about Slightly Pimpish Mostly Doggish. My point being with a lot of Jay Tee's cd's...I had no idea about them coming out before hand.I just saw them one day. And another thing, until I got that vhs tape with all the videos, the only video I had seen was Back To The Hotel on BET and MTV. I never even saw those videos for the weekend or toss up and now that seems crazy knowing how big a hit back to the hotel was. That was tight as fuck when you were on YO MTV RAPS back in 1992...I still remember that shit. Is California Music Channel the only place where the rest of your videos got airplay? Sorry about the long ass post folks.

my point being that Profile Records was considered a major label back then I guess... so I thought those videos would get national airplay

Yep I remember when Back to the Hotel was on MTV, I was like 12!

24-7-365 was on a small label called Bust It Records. I may be wrong but I think MC Hammer had something to do with that label. I think that album is highly underrated, I think that shit is fuckin sic!

Yup--here's what Jay Tee told MURDER DOG in 2000(Volume 7, #3):

"...Our management company was Busted Management. Hammer's brother, Louis Burrel, owned Busted Management. They were getting us shows everywhere. We were in Hawaii 3 or 4 times; we were performing damn near every day. They had Busted Records, too, so they signed us after we left Profile. But they didn't know what they were doin', and that whole label fell apart. They kinda fucked our whole reputation up. After our second record came out, 24-7-365, which was one of our best records, really, we had to start all over. It took 2 or 3 years to bounce back from that. That album came out in '94-'95, and then I just started all over." (P.87)

Really, though. all of N2Deep's CDs after BACK TO THE HOTEL are highly underrated, IMHO. It'll be interesting to see how well HIGH CALIBER sells. But I'll support 40 Ounce no matter what happens--when a company is so dependable that even the COMPILATIONS they put out are dope, too, you KNOW that the company's doing something right! LOL!

PEACE!

Who remembers the scrolling text on the top of the page ? I remember Jay Tee would change it from time to time w/ where his next show would be. I'd always check back to see if anything was close to the midwest and I'll never forget the day I checked it and it said there was gonna be a show down in detroit for some lowrider show. I was excited til' I saw the date.....

The show was one day before I was checking it so I missed it and I dont' think there's been anything within 10 hours of Michigan since then

Yo, Pimperoni, I remember the scrolling text! I'd always keep tabs as well. Actually I check the site about everyday just to see if there are updates so I don't miss anything. I also remember he used to have the desktop stripper walk across the bottom of the page. LOL

yeah, I remember that...that's how I found out about Jay Tee being at the lowrider show in Kansas City back in August 2001. It was a tight show. I only wish I could have met Jay Tee and chopped it up with him some. At least I got some cool video footage of the show.

How many years has the OG Bart board been around?
