There's a competition up
( www.dreambuildplay.com ) right now that uses XNA Game Studio...and optionally Torque X over at www.garagegames.com (free) This enables you to make games for the PC as well as the 360. I signed up for the comp but don't think I 'll be ready in time...still goin trough animation and character tutorials. Shit's dope. first prize $10,000 and some 360's ...I forget exactly what but all the info is at the site. I've been trying to tell people here about Torque for a while...even before XNA came out... but XNA makes it even that much easier. I say a good weekend in tutorials...you'll have the basics. Modeling is the toughest shit...cause you gotta use good shit like Maya or 3Ds Max to come up with some decent shit...Blender will work also. Milkshape and Quark are good for buildings and lil things. Give at a chance and check it out...it's really not as hard as it may seem.
