Am I the only one who has extreme difficulty writing hooks? I mean, recently, I've written enough songs for 2 albums. But none of my songs have hooks. I cant seem to come up with none. Anyone have suggestions I can use to help me out with this?

Who said you have to have hooks anyway??? my suggestion is simple, don't write songs as versus...just write one huge piece (or combine several smaller pieces together) don't worry about a hook...just write whats on your mind...when your done read it & ask yourself (or someone else) "whats the most catchy lines in all of this?" there you go...thats your hook...or just have someone else guest on the hooks & let them come up with one...

It helps to have a beat already made or one in mind that has a part for a hook in it,that would make it a hell of alot easier.Just try and make it something that will grab peoples attention,something catchy as hell,like Smurf said.

i usually just write and shit.......once Ive written too much and it overlaps tha beat where tha hook should go Ive got my hook.....HAHAHA......i fucc wit it usually switch it up but that way it all kinda ties into tha song and shit

DEPENDS ALL ON YOU I GUESS AND HOW YOU WRITE AND WHATNOT....ME IM VERY CRITICAL OF MY OWN SHIT AND I CANT STAND TO WRITE A VERSE THAT DONT MAKE SENSE WIT THE THEME OF THE SONG....WHICH IS WHY I WOULDNT AGREE ON JUS WRITIN N WRITIN THEN BREAKIN IT DOWN....I HAVE TO HAVE THE BEAT 1ST OFF.....WHICH IS NO PROBLEM SINCE I MAKE EM ALL MYSELF....THEN I THINK OF A THEME THE BEAT WOULD FIT....THEN I EITHER START OFF WIT WRITIN A HOOK TO GO WIT MY OVERALL THEME THAT CAPTURES THE EMOTION AND TOPIC......OR I START OFF BY WRITIN A VERSE.......HOOKS ARENT HARD FOR ME AT ALL....CUZ I USE THE HOOK TO CONVEY MY OVERALL MESSAGE.....ITS GETTIN 3 WHOLE VERSES THAT MAKE SENSE TOGETHER I SOMETIMES HAVE TROUBLE WIT......OR WRITIN 1-2 VERSES AND GETTIN A HOMIE OR FELLOW ARTIST TO DROP ON IT AND STILL MAKE SENSE ALONG WIT YOU......KINDA HARD TO GIVE ADVICE ON THIS SUBJECT CUZ EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT....ALL I CAN SAY IS YOU GOTTA LEARN HOW TO HANDLE IT ON YA OWN OR GET A GOOD FREIND TO HELP YOU WRITE A HOOK......
