Is this the worst year to be a Seattleite since the Great Seattle Fire in 1889?

Just off the top:

1) We lost Washington Mutual to a GOVERNMENT SEIZURE (biggest bank failure EVER)

2) We lost Safeco Insurance

3) We are now officially the worst sports city in the history US

4) We lost the Sonics to a jack ass in Oklahoma

5) The Mariners are the worst team in baseball and the first team to ever have a 100 million dollar payroll and lose 100 games

6) Christine Gregoire couldn't balance her check book

7) UW sucks at football

Am I missing anything here? Feel free to add on

yeah.. it pretty much sucks..

on top of what you said..

1) rental pricing SKY ROCKETED...
2) you cant even afford to rent an apartment unless youre making 13+ dollars an hour
3) everybody is with holding their money so you can barely ever get a raise or let alone get to 13-14 an hour
4) theres no jobs
5) the amount of clucks have reduced and been pushed out so theres no easy way to make $$

The bay is having one of the worst years in sports history..

The 49ers suck, Raiders suck (even tho' we got a good team the owner fucks it up), A's suck, Giants suck....

Warriors who knows cuz Ellis is hurt and we dont have BD anymore.

Sharks IDK I guess they're good.

True statement. It has been a fucking brutal year, but one that hopefully will be a crucial turning point in getting the Mariners a competent GM, firing Willingham and I'm still holding out hope the Seahawks can win it all.

Yo, I moved from a big 1 bedroom with 2 car garage apt for 650 a month in seattle, to a 1350 a month small 1 bedroom here in San Francisco..

As for sports, its not that I dont support Seattle teams, I was just let down too many times... even back in 95, the Mariners were able to get so close then lose it.

As for the WaMu, yeah that is bad... .but look at the economy.. we are taking a brutal beating all around.

I hope we have drastic changes in the future.

Losing the Sonics is horrible, we will never get another NBA team up here. Hopefully the Hawks can get healthy and make their final run, before a coach who was fired from his last job takes the reigns. As far as renting an APT, I don't know about that, but it's a bitch when the state sends you a letter stating that the value of your casa has dropped 50G'z in 3 months. Shit is fucked up.
