I aint a music producer so I don't know how talk box or auto tune work,to me autotune sounds like a 90's baby version of talk box...

connect it to a keyboard/guitar etc, play the notes and the sound comes out the tube into your mouth (no marty) and when you talk it has that effect

Talkbox: Played by plugging in to a keyboard or guitar. Strike a note on the keyboard/guitar and the SOUND comes out of a tube instead of the speakers. You put the tube in yer mouth and the sound from the keyboard/guitar provides the "voice" for you. You sound out the words and play the keyboard/guitar (as in playing like you would normally with different notes). So you hafta be a good keyboard player and have good pronunciation (not easy to do with a tube in yer mouth *no homo*). The only thing you actually "say" are hard consonants (t's, s's etc).

Vocoder: a microphone attached to a keyboard. Hit a key and talk into the mic and it gives a robotic tone.

Autotune: just an effect placed on vocals either while or after they're recorded.


Talkbox is honestly the most difficult instrument I've attempted to play. Cause it's combining multiple things at once.
