Plus it is comedy that he thinks Tone Loc, Tag Team and Sir Mix-A-Lot are old school. All those rappers are from the early 1990's (except that Tone Loc had a album in 1989 and Mix-A-Lot had one in 1988 and one in 1989..but it wasn't until the 1990's either had any real success.) That is not old school!

Tag Team ain't even rap

but Sir Mix-A-Lot and Tone Loc are old school... shit homie, rap wasn't even 10 years strong when those guys made a record... unless you count kurtis Blow, Kool Herc, Sugar Hill Gang etc.

Sir Mix-A-Lot and Tone Loc are 1990's rap artist IMO. Also yes Tag Team is rap. It might be lame ass 1990's booty rap...but it is rap just the same. I am really not understanding your logic SFWOOD, why would you not count Kurtis Blow, Kool DJ Herc, Sugar Hill Gang, and such as old school? To me those cats and alot of others are what old school rap is. Plus rap came out in 1972 on a some what national tip. So it was over 15 years old when Tone and Mix first dropped. Maybe I am misinterperting what you mean in the last part of your last sentence.

While Mix-A-Lot and Tone Loc's music is from over 10yrs ago does not make it old school rap IMO...but to each their own.
