Anyone else heard this theory/thought? Figured I'd bring it up as all this ww3/nuclear holocaust been discussed.

I was listenin' to NPR a few weeks ago, and some guest was getting into detail about how WW3 has actually passed, and defined WWIII as the Cold War. Thus, labeling the 'War on Terror' WWIV... WWI wasn't labeled as such until after the fighting was done, during the war it was referrd to at 'The Great War', WWII didnt earn that title until there was no more fighting either....

so what cha'll think, and how y'all feel about missin' WWIII?

Our great president said after the plane went down in Pennsylvania, that the counterstrike (passengers taking over the plane) was the first in WW3. I swear nobody listens to this crack pot president we have, with good reason, but some things are worth listening to.

Although, I do agree the Cold War could be considered a world war, except the US didn't really do much but sit around and scare its own people (hmm, see a pattern developing?).

Do you consider it a World War where none of the major powers actually fight each other and battles are only waged through proxy?

Well if you take into consideration that many nations are secretly in cahoots with the country at war, then I guess it's a world war. You can't trust Russia, China, and the Arab Nations, I feel they are heavily alligned.

We actually had a thread (or at leasts 5 or more posts) dedicated to this. I don't consider ww3 to be the cold war. In order to have war their needs to be some type of attack on the others finances or with some type of physical action, and I don't think propaganda and he say she say stuff cuts it.

I completely agree. War is WAR...death and destruction. Not, "hey if you fuck with us we'll nuke your ass!"

@Makaveli

I realize Bush is a little bit slow, and as much as it pains me to type this, he is the leader of the country and makes a lot of powerful decisions which effect the lives of most of the people in our country and possibley the whole continent.

The "war on terror" is world wide. There have been A LOT of deaths resulting from said "war." How many countries are involved right now?

Albert Einstein had a quote that said, something along the lines of 'I'm not sure the exact type of weapons that will be used during WW3, but WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones'

Question is have you been. you been contradict yourself in the last few post. like saying the cold war was a world war, how there wasnt no action (y do you think it was called the cold war) and the only real countries invovle was US & Russia and the rest were only allying and to fight if either strike. then what you said a couple post ago about war is war and all that. what happen you change your mind? y do you think US dont wanna leave iraq, because there so much communist over there and they wanna try stop it spreading. for years thats what countries they been pushing. whats next N. Korea then China?
