I have a serious question regarding Workmans Compensation for anyone who knows about it, and my reason for asking should be self explanitory.

First off I have 0 benefits from my work such as medical and dental. However, should someone get injured on the job, the company will provide free services for that injury. My question is this: At what point do company's drug test someone utilizing Workmans Comp? Is it once they take a paid leave, or is it on the initial visit to the doctor. I MUST seek medical attention for my injury and my job is on the line here.

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps out.

During the initial visit.once you are diagnosed, the doctors office calls the hr director at your job and asks if a drug test is required and most of the time the answer is yes.

The second you get "hurt" you could be facing a drug test. Some companies/organizations make it mandatory when any "accident" occurs.

I threw my back out while I was working on a heat pump. After about 10-15 minutes of squating down working on this unit, I stood up and have not been able to walk correctly since - the pain has not subsided. Basically I can not lay down or stand up without pain. My appointment is tomorrow at 10:20am.

My buddy just fucked his foot up on a lawnmower, got workman's comp, no drug test (the employer wasn't big on piss testing). The only thing was, since he was landscaping 4 months out of the year, they fucked him on money. He was expecting them to pay him 270 a week, but since they averaged his paycheck out over a year, he only got 90 a week. Not enough to live on at all.

My buddy's dad threw his back out 15 years ago and he's still fighting with the municipality to get some disability.

I dunno if you'll get piss tested or not, but I do know the insurance company is trying their hardest to fuck you over as we speak.

Yup, that way if your test comes back positive or inconclusive, thay can deny your claim and blame it on your "highness"

I took this syruppy stuff from a bong shop. You drink it, fill the empty container twice with water and drink it, and your clear. It was about $40

The thing is I don't have insurance so they have nothing to worry about as far as paying me when I can not work. The only thing that is paid for is the doctor. If he says I'm fucked and can't work then I have to go on unemployment. Anyways I didn't go to the doctor today in fear that I could lose my job. I'm probably going to reschedule and take the risk.

By the way, I work at a hospital.

My supervisor already knows. I filled out a report already (right after it happened) and the doctor I am scheduled to see is my employers appointed doctor, not mine.

also you have to be out over 3 days for them to start paying you workers comp. the employer must pay for all medical costs, but won't give you any money for lost wages until your 4th day off the job (I believe, vinn feel free to correct me) I sliced my hand open and had to get stitches, it was fine but they didn't want me to get an infection, so they told me not to go into work since I'll be using my hand...I was only out 3 days and came back the fourth, so I didn't get shit......well, I got fucked up off of vicodin and traded the rest of the pills for weed, but thats a different story

I think you are missing my point. The only thing I am worried about is coming up with a dirty drug test if and when the doctor that they appointed requests one. It is at the same facility where I did my physical and took my initial drug screening.

they're going to have to give you notice as well for the drug test, at which point you can get the syruppy drink......but unless they have reason to believe you were high and that was the cause of your injury, they won't give you one
