FORT PIERCE - An 18-year-old woman accused of hitting a man with a toilet seat after reportedly finding him smoking crack in the bathroom is facing a battery charge, according to an arrest affidavit released Monday.
Kimberlee Ann Cole went to jail Friday after allegedly striking Joel E. Goldsmith, 24, with the commode seat after finding him in the restroom smoking crack. The two live together in the 80 block of Virginia Park Boulevard and have a child.
Cole told investigators she asked Goldsmith, who went to jail on a cocaine possession charge, to hand over the drugs, but he refused and they started arguing.
"She stated that he kept smoking the cocaine and went to put another 'rock' in the crack pipe," the arrest affidavit states. "At this time Goldsmith dropped the cocaine and Ms. Cole turned the water in the shower on."
Cole reached for the crack, but Goldsmith pushed her away.
"As the disturbance escalated, she threatened to hit Goldsmith with a toilet seat," the report states. "He refused to stop smoking the drugs and Ms. Cole hit Goldsmith with the toilet seat."
Police found a broken toilet seat in the master bedroom bathroom and blood on the walls, toilet and floor. A small amount of cocaine turned up in the shower.
Goldsmith declined to say what happened in the bathroom, only saying they argued.
