I saw the BET show American Gangster, and it was great. I was thinking that Mac Dre may have never been on so many television screens at once, and by BET doing this is huge for him/his legacy. There more than likely are going to be new fans who never heard of him untill they watched Amercian Gangster at home in Maine or London. Will this be a spark in interest in Bay Rap since by leading them to Mac Dre we infact are ultimatly leading them to Dubee, Mac Mall, PSD, FAB, KEAK, Too Short, and the list goes on and on ad on...

thoughts?

I think it just cements the fact he's a underground legend in hiphop, not just the bay...

he probably will now get downloaded by kids who never heard of Mac Dre, and pass on mac dre by word of mouth... the best kind of promotion.

If they had good quality unreleased Mac Dre albums they would blow up, he has that kind of interest

MAC DRE=BIGGER THEN YOU
Since when is people simply saying that they don't think this American Gangster episode will spark a worldwide interest in Mac Dre being disrespectful? The chance to make his legacy grow died when he was murdered (r.I.p.) and when Hyphy (and all who capitalized off of it) proved to be more like fastfood then a homecooked meal. Mac DRE was a beast at what he did, but the way his legacy/catalogue was handled after he past away with the bobble heads and halloween mask was imo kinda disrespectful.

damn you guys are retarded lol

of course there will get more fans

thousands of people who have never heard of mac dre will now at least know his name

and althgouh that doesnt eman everyone is gunna go out and buy is discography im sure at least a few people will at least DL an album and if they like it they will tell there friends and so on and so on

and lmao at the biggest loser analogy "hella dumb" at it again
this is not even close to the saem thing as that people watch that show to laugh at fat people or inspire them to lose weight people watch american gansgter to learn about an infamous person who really did somethig your favorite rappers raps about

in this time of hip hop where there is so much emphasis on "realness" i think this episode will defienintly spark interest in mac dre

but i dont think TBIB

this is a gangsta rap site not fuckin english class
that is all

This is the BAY AREA RAP TALK (BART) NOT a 'gangsta-rap talk' forum. And not all "BAY" music is 'gangsta rap'. And not ALL 'gangstas' are illiterate.

The emphasis of my post was not to correct his spelling. I was merely making a spoof of the "MAC DRE = GREATER THAN YOU" statement.

PS: Do you feel as if using a ginormous font compensates for your lack of logic, and helps you get your point across?

Just curious. :)

That is all.
