will or should Pro-teams include bans on Nightclubs/Bars in contracts?

Im thinkin about all the shit that goes down with these Athletes from College to Pro level and what goes down. Think back to Ray Lewis and his murder rap back in ATL for the superbowl, homie for the Bears and leading up til now. I think its happening more and more and teams are going to start having to look at what their players do on their personal time. Let one or two more athletes get killed (the way black men gettin killed in the US, it wont be long espcially to hit a well known star like a Kobe, Mike Vick etc.) and im sure their will be a buzz about it.

any thoughts?

It's not fair to restrict an athlete from doing certain things on his own time. Taking drugs and doing shit that's illegal should be banned, understandably. But going to night clubs and parties? No. That's none of their business. If that shit were to be implied to anyone else with a normal job they would be taken to court immediately. Athletes are entertainers, nothing more. If they want to party let them party.. They shouldn't be treated more importantly than the average person.

People fail to realize that athletes are people, too. Maybe some of them started the altercations which caused them harm. I know for a FACT that Ken Hamlin was the one who instigated the fight that kept him sidelined for a full season. Am I justifying athletes getting shot and beat up? No. But maybe they need to know when to shut up. Fame can make a muthafucka REAL big headed.

if I were in that position and someone told me I'm not allowed to have a social life after 10pm I'd tell them to take that multi-million dollar contract and shove it up your ass........well after the first year at least, I gotta get something :)

but f'real, there should always be an inclusion of dangerous activities, but even that gets out of hand....I heard some players in denver weren't allowed to ski....thats insane....in reality these are adults. they know what goes on at functions yet still choose to go. its on them if shit happens. trust me the players would strike if something like this was included in contracts

If I'm a black man earning 7 figures and I choose to go out, I ain't taunting any black dudes I see in the club, period.

Playing in the NFL or NBA is an ego boost enough, I'm already pretty darn secure in my masculinity. I ain't taunting anybody, especially not another group of black dudes. Racist or smart? Probably a little bit of both.
