Before "Black President," "Obama 08" and the scores of other pro-Obama Hip Hop efforts, will.i.am [click to read] of the Black Eyed Peas was one of the initial Hip Hop artists to pen a song showing support for President-Elect Barack Obama. His first effort, "Yes We Can" received nearly 25 million views via YouTube and his own multimedia site DipDive.com, after being released on January 31. The clip went on to win both a Webby Award and an Emmy for Best New Approach in Daytime Entertainment.

On February 20, will.i.am released another star-studded endorsement entitled "We Are the Ones." Now that Sen. Obama is set to assume the presidency, will.i.am has released the video he recorded over a week ago, in anticipation of Obama's win.

"It's important that this country comes together," will tells CNN. "The eyeballs that have been involved in this process need to stay involved in what happens to America. Just because the news doesn't cover it, doesn't mean we don't take responsibility in our own communities and for our schools."

will says the futuristic technology used by CNN is but a small taste of things to come. As he and his fellow Black Eyed Peas finish their upcoming album, The E.N.D., the rapper/producer and soon-to-be actor says technological changes are coming regardless of who's in the White House.

"For the last remaining stores that sell CDs, this is the last Christmas that CDs will be in stores," Will.I.Am said, while speaking to Billboard.com. "It's fucking scary. But nowadays it isn't just physical with music and content anymore--you have to have proprietary software. Just borrowing other people's shit doesn't empower the growth and how you monetize that content, so that's why it's important that we got a software guy that is part of the Peas."

If some "backpack" "conscious" type rappers had their way and their musical opinion became the way we would all be giggin to freestyle ciphers in the club

I download shit though that is difficult for me to get.
