Dude is a horrible actor, but it's true, he's the sterotype of what a mexican gang member is supposed to look like. Just goes to show, if you look the part, it's much easier to be precieved as a "G". He was in the video game commercial too, playin an inmate..........

There are lot of other Latino/Hispanic actors that play more serious roles than him. Every movie where a "cholo" is needed he's the one that shows up. But like most people have said you fit the role take it.

esai morales is puerto rican...even the fool that played the gang leader in training day wasnt mexican.he was arabic or sumthing like that..its just what hollywood thinks raza should look like in movies and t.v..it sucks but theyre the ones runnin the show.

And some people (especially younger/less educated) take movies as reality, so negative stereotypes in movies keep those stereotypes alive and going...
