They fail for many different reasons...

Some people get married for the wrong reasons... like for having a baby.
Some people let their addictions take them over and that is the only important thing in their life. (DING-DING-DING... this is why my 'rents divorced)
Some people cheat.
Some people lack communication.
Some people are lazy and don't wanna help out financially.
Some people beat the living fuck outta the one they supposedly love.
Marriage is a lot of work... some people don't like to work or have better things to do.

I mean, I could go on and on really...

When I see a couple 80 some years old who have been together for 50 plus years, I find that so sweet, but really... I think we'll be seeing less and less of that as time goes on. I have maybe two friends that have parents that are still happily married... the rest are like my parents... happily divorced.
Good points. I'm goin on seven years of marriage comin up in June. I'm bored as FUCK! Lol. nah it's all good...most of the time.

its all about communication and trust. if you dont talk you let your own thoughts and feelings do the talking for your husband/wife. and that leads to a lack of trust.

marriages fail because women marry assholes who wake them at at 6 in the morning on their 4 year wedding anniversary going fuckin crazy because the man left a pair of sweats on the couch and the womans cat slept on them and left 4 strands of cat hair on them.

I think the majority of people marry because of lust. Attraction is key but if you marry a person for their sex appeal and material needs it's not really solid.

I think the best marriages/relationships are the one's that start out as friendships and grow into something deeper. I have a home girl that's been tight with me for 10 years, I joke with her about being married because she's one of the people I can tolerate being around 24/7.
