i kinda understsand what he means...its like this whole "stop snitchin" bullshit....like, old people in black communities are now afraid (and have been for a long time) to come out and say anything. i think he also may be referring to the fact that there aren't a lot of black owned businesses in black communities, so it's hard to bring a community together thru that.
the truth is, vinn is right about hip hop...people know where it comes from, but people dont realize that its NOT FUCKING UNIVERSAL...hip hop came from being opressed and not having anything and making something out of nothing, and so it really isnt universal, like white people in san mateo with some money and an accessible recording studio have no idea of what the "struggle" is about. i fucking hate when people say that it's universal. people just say that so that they feel ok making the music they do. that's why its not a HUSTLE, its about LIFE, and it has to tie in to your life. to be real, u gotta make what u do about your life...its not like having other jobs. also, hip hop is so commercialized its rediculous...white people own these corporations that just use black puppets to sell records cuz they can use the black image to sell shit, and its like is 50 really making money off the game (not the rapper)? or is the game making money off of 50? i cant really answer that question, but when we look up to these rappers with lots of money and say they hustled shit, truth is, they most likely got hustled as well..
