So many think Tech should of already made it. Including myself. But I figured this would be generate alot of good points and opinions. So go ahead and give ur reasons of if you do think Tech should of made it already, why you think he should of and why he hasnt. And then also what you think he is gonna need to change or do to allow himself to make it big....

I will start off with my own. I wont get too deep into it yet, I will wait and hear from the rest before I give a full in depth opinion...

Tech SHOULD of already made it: Hands down he is one of the illest MC's out there. His style is so unique and original that it blows 95% of other rappers out of the water. He is true to himself and what he writes about, he sticks to his life and his expierences and isnt afraid to express his true feelings and opinions about the world. He has sicc ass rhymes and flows that get people hyped up for his music.

Why he hasnt made it yet: Mostly because of his image. Someone that has never heard his music, were to look at a photo of him from anything prior to a year ago would of been like WTF? The fact that he doesnt sing about rims, jewelery and escalades. Doesnt have enough catchy hooks that people can sing along to in clubs. His name.

What he is gonna have to change/do to make it: Get more songs with choruses that are easy to hear and know and sing along to. Not have Krizz on every hook. Get more Down south or westcoast beats. Hook up w bigger artists. Stop makin it so known that he loves juggalos and ICP. Dont make so many songs about bitches and sex.

There is my quick take on things... Now its everyone elses turn...

1 thing i dislike is how Tech beat Tum Tum on MTVu, but yet tum tum is all over mtv jams and shit, no sign of tech. Its not the marketing issue, its the lack of respect thats not given to him. just like in that one thread that was started talkin bout tum. Yea and i agree on letting him be. The man has a family, works shows every other night. But we cant cuz when you enjoy and love something so much u cant stop talkin bout it =].

i think he should have went mainstream and made all the dough already.... he has money and he may want more.... but i think he wants to go mainstream to spread his music over the world.... i think money is a factor but i dont think it is the main factor...... i think he should just make a mainstream ass cd in like a month and if it goes mainstream make another cd that is all tech though.... oh well he is still big but not mainstream and as long as he is happy ( i dont know if he is or not ) and keeps makin real good music then who cares..............

I agree 100% totally on this quote:

I think the whole "Tech's imagery" holding him back is becoming a little redundant.. I mean he doesn't have the same appearance now that may of made people have a bad impression or not given him a listen.. far weirder looking fucks have became mainstream and been seen as anti-christs and have reached in my eyes mainstream status and are known by basically all, for example Marilyn Manson.

I also feel very strongly that having Krizz Kaliko on every track will not detract from garnering mainstream attention. The only people that would know of Krizz Kaliko are Tech N9ne and Strange Music fans.. the average listener would not know who a Big Krizz Kaliko was.. and I would also wager to bet if they only listened to msuic heard from MTV or from radio play.. they most likely haven't heard of anything "Tech N9ne".

I think his affiliations with ICP and the Kottonmouth Kings hurt him quite a bit on his path to get mainstream status.. they will further his audience and may make him more money and he can even enjoy making music with the company of close friends in the industry but if his focal direction is to get into the mainstream I highly doubt they are the company that will take him there..

The only way I can see Tech reaching the mainstream sadly involves a helluva lot of money.. I am no half owner of a music company by any means.. and anyone can correct me where i am wrong.. but it takes a helluva lot of money to get mainstream.. it doesn't take talent in the slightest from the shit I consistently hear.. if it was purely on talent Tech N9ne would be a house-hold name. That I think is solely why Tum Tum is now getting exposure and Tech N9ne is pushed to the back burner even though the popularity of Tech's music overshadowed Tum Tum. Huge music companys with huge wallets will elevate there artists to the mainstream.. the reason why 50 Cent, G-Unit and all these other rappers are on TV and for my money far more talented rappers like Tech N9ne sit on the shelf and continue to hustle and try to get that well deserved spot.

As far as Tech N9ne making solely a mainstream album, that isn't Tech N9ne, I don't think any true Tech N9ne fans want a wishy-washy version of what he is known as. There are club-bangers and radio-friendly tracks found on Everready, Absolute Power and Misery Loves Kompany, it is just quite puzzeling that it appears that it may be too good for radio play.. his rapping ability is different, his subject matter is different and his down-to-earth honesty isn't seen all that much in other performers.. it should be seen as a refreshing change instead of just being tossed aside beacuse it is different..

A huge name like an Eminem or someone with a huge huge fan base and is as mainstream as they come may be the direction one needs to take to get there.. other routes is paying to get that spot, which Tech doesn't want to do. I for one commend him on that and really hope he succeeds at getting to the mainstream on his god given abilities and gets to a spot he really wants to be at.

I can only speak for the attention he recives in Australia and it is basically non-existant.. he is basically an unknown to people that listen to commerical music and is not played on TV or heard on radio stations here.. the only time where he even got a remote bit of exposure that i have seen other than Slacker hitting the charts which I was completely oblivious to at the time is when the track with FiggKidd "I Gotta Know" got airplay all over the place.. i feel simply because FiggKidd is Australian and we seem to support everything Australian lol.. other Aussies here may feel the same way..

he should have already made it cuz he is better than damn near any other rapper u can name. his music is some of the crazyest, most talented shit ive ever heard and its fucked that ppl wont give talent a chance rather than money and catchy bullshit hooks

he hasnt made it cuz the industry still wont accept him. tech is a vet at this shit and he still cant catch a break cuz once again the industrys a bunch of fuckin punks. his image has changed up so wtf is wrong with his image now?? his long beard?? whos gives a fuck. that things tight

i know he has to change to make it but i dont think he should. i think he should just keep doin what he does and if the industry decides to accept him they will. he should stay with his underground roots. cuz he has made music with many artists. i can also care less who he makes music with. i listen to tech n9ne for him not so i can hear other ppl. if he should do songs with more artists do it with someone who can possibly top him. example not lil flip. he will likely never release a verse tighter than tech

Kind of a play off of the "What do you think Tech could improve upon" thread..
rehashin some old issues...

I think we all know Tech should've blown up huge a long time ago... there's many different reasons why he hasn't....

But aint a snowball's chance in HELL I'm gonna list 5 pages of reasons about it.

in order for him to be #1 he would have to change...

face paint at shows
having wack ppl open for him
having wack ppl close after him
find a major record label thats willing to take him in with the strange music name as well
better distribution
better producers
flaunt his money
etc etc...

and in my opinion he should change shit. he should stay true to him self which he has so no complaints on him on my behalf

he's inovative and creative, the song S.H.E. was a concept that i would have never thought that someone rap about it was like a fucking movie,PERFECT. This ring was a song that was just mind blowing the delivery, lyrics, the beat, PERFECT!. Industry is punks (the best intro song i heard ever)i wasnt expecting that when i first heard it. Riotmaker hot ass song ( i wish i made that beat) the riffs drives me fuck crazy especially the one after the 8th bar in the verse he was flowing with on some real shit. i can go on for ever, but ima stop right here.

Face paint i can kind of dig, but ya having the juggalos open close for him aint really helpin his image
they may be his fam, and we all know it, its just sometimes you gotta make sacrifices right?

maybe its to late for tech to go mainstream?

If tech where to do some of that shit he wouldn't be the tech we all know and love. The face paint is an awesome plus for a tech show, (hed) P.E is an alright opening the put on good shows. KMK, Subnoize Souljaz, etc.. blow in my opinion and dirtball reminds me of a techno-ish version of twizler....not good IMO. I think tech should stay indie, indie is the right way to go, you get more money. And i hate rapper who flaunt there money its kind of ignorant.

But i know what you are saying

Well if he really is goin on tour with E-40, and Three 6 Mafia, that is a plus. I love kmk but i agree, he doesnt belong on these tours. He needs to start opening with other good rap talent. Some fans wont know him that well but I'm sure they will be amazed by his performance, they would probably say he's better than the headliner. It would be nice if some of these rappers like E-40 and eminem would do him a favor and stick him on a track on their cd. Either way something better happen quick cuz "Time is Running Out".

I'm sure Tech could give a fuck what you think he needs to change. Get over it! I want to see Tech be Tech! And Tech knows how to do that. It's basically a compliment that he hasn't gone mainstream cause all the mainstream shit I hear is fuckin wack! The radio stations I have out here wouldn't know a good song if it bit them in the ass! You basically have to be a talentless hack to make it with a big label and then you're going to get your one hit and disappear, unless you go Twista or Jarule and start making only love songs just to get back on the radio.

How many posts are there going to be on this board about this? How many times can you reword the same question?
