First of all, most folks listen to who they like anyway regardless of how the music is reviewed and so forth.

2nd, the ratings almost are never accurate because it's hard giving an album a quick listen through and then judging it.

To be honest, most of my favorite rappers are the ones I didn't care for when I first heard them. I know that sounds crazy but these niggaz are legends and it's too many to name.

Opinions are like assholes...ya know the rest.

In fairness, reviews give you an inside look at what to expect outside the artist & label promotion.

Yeah, it's one person's opinion & yeah, they can be wrong at times, but the final judgement will be made by the consumer.

No matter how many articles sayin' that an albums weak, you as a TRUE FAN are gonna copp it I decide for yourself in the end.

I read reviews when Im bored at work. Sometimes they're cool and sometimes they're stupid. What's funny to me is that reviewers usually have that opening paragraph that gives you background info on the artist. Those opening paragraphs be mad boring. They do the same thing when they're doing interviews it's mad boring also. Someone needs to switch that shit up and just be like bam song 1 is crack etc. etc.

Something I've been thinking about lately: maybe we have too much music today and can't really appreciate it the way we could 10 years ago when I would buy a tape and listen to it for 2 months

now it's too easy to get the music and you listen to 10-15 albums a week, then just forget about them and move to the next 15, you can't really HEAR the album if you're doing so

I hear ya homeslice. I still take my time and listen to music. I don' t buy music that often and I don't feel the need to buy music as soon as it comes out. I usually buy albums a while after they get released and let em soak in.

That's the best thing I've read on this forum in a long time. What happened to taking real time on an album oppose to dropping albums back to back and the quality / fans dropping faster than albums do?

I've been taking a hella of a long time on dropping my new shit & lot's of MoFo's be talkin' like "I dropped 2 albums already & you still can't finish one?"

...but them same MoFo's is still broke, so it don't really make a difference if they dropped 10 albums in the same ammount of time...LOL!!!!

I think artist should really focus more on making something solid oppose to rushing, by fearing we'll fall out of the spot light.

The only spot light a lot of us have is dropping albums that don't catch the attention to stay in your deck for the 3-4 months.

Didn't mean to get off subject...

I agree I think so many people are trying to hop on the bay area wave while its still movin, that theyre scrificing quality for the off chance of catching on based on regional noterierty, I'd rather buy and sit down with 1 Gemini or BigChill or Woodie for a while to soak it in, rather that 2 or three from someone else, or in that case a dozen mixtapes. Dont get me wrong, there is a difference between having a CD ready quickly, like 2pac for instance, and rushing one out, you can always tell when something has been rushed.
