They have WC, but really they don't know how to promote a west coast rapper. If he was from NY it would be easy for them to market cause that's what they're used to. But since WC is west coast and they can't figure out how to promote him, he gets to drop his album(Ghetto Heisman), on the same day Jay Z(Another Def Jam artist)'s new one drops.

Def Jam had a lot of your favorite west coast artists in the past. They had South Central Cartel, Domino, Warren G, The Twinz, The Dove Shack, plus more that I can't think of right now. Fuck Def Jam. And what pisses me off even more is when people say "What happened to S.C.C.? They fell off. They were tight." They also say that with other older artists who were popular for a bit then got dumped by the big record label they were on. You can promote any artist and make them go platinum. All you need is a decent beat with a catchy hook and simple-minded people are sold. You can just fill in the rest of the song with bullshit lyrics that suck. Open your ears to something more than the radio.

DefJam raped the west coast in the 90s....they were about to go out of business until Warren Gs album went double plat or whatever...they signed up a lot of good west coast talent and then they made DefJamWest(SCC Warren G Jayo Felony all those G Funk dudes Richie Rich) but instead they didnt market any of those artists and they took all the money made from the Regulate album and put it into all the up and coming east coast labels(Ruff Ryder Murder Inc RocAfella) and then promoted Meth and Redman and other artists...and to be honest i think this was more important to the west coast mainstream disapearance then Pac dying
