I feel bad for Grossman, his post game interview was like an interrogation but shit he fucking is getting worse rather than better.

I think chicago's D and special teams is good enough for Griese to just manage the game. Ortin throws a lot of INT's too so I'd be more comfortable with Griese for this year and then next year do whatever it takes to get a good QB.

Griese is to old, The only way I can see Griese start is they give up on Grossman as their future QB and draft a QB in the first round next year. I say start Grossman at least til mid season and if he's doing a real bad job put Griese in and draft a QB first round next year.

Orten all the way. Take it from someone who has watched Griese more than the normal NFL fan...you do not want him in there.

Today during the press conference and in response to the question "Will Rex Grossman start next week?" Lovie said, "You'll find out on Wednesday at practice."

This is the first time he didn't say "Rex is our guy" so this leads me to believe Rex will be benched.

@thascary1,

Do you think he would do worse or better than Grossman?

No he's definitely not a long term solution, hes more of a quick fix to a big problem this year, which is why I think Lovie has been so patient with him.

I don't know wtf they will do from here - Orton I don't think has what it takes to be a solid starting QB. Draft? I dunno, da bears looked screwed though right now, especially now with all the injuries on defense they are just an average defense with a horrible offense.

Yeah it's not looking good for da Bears. Boy y'all should have kept Thomas Jones especially after seeing how both (Jones/Benson) performed in the SuperBowl.

I think Greise will do better than Grossman. I don't think he'll win too many games but he won't lose them either.

^^ Yeah but if they take out grossman as starter there pretty much giving up on him as there future, not saying I disagree, he fuckin sucks. He's had plenty of time to prove himself but still shows his inconsistency. If they put in Griese they have to either draft a QB in the first round next year, Sign a Good QB next year or Rely on Orton as there new future. Because Greise is old and the Bears need a Franchise QB.

how about just have devin hester be the qb....he's their best player when he has the ball in his hands.....and its not like he can get the ball any other way on offense :cheeky:

if I were lovie, I'd talk to the GM like "look, I don't want you deciding my coaching fate based on Rex Grossman, so I'll just make a phone call to tank johnson, he still owes me a favor, he can take him out back and shoot him....ya know, bust a cap to free up some cap space, then we can get a real qb"

almost forgot, lol @ "neckbeard"

Yes, getting rid of Thomas Jones was a mistake, but it was all about money (Benson drafted number 4 overall supposed to be a starter, making big $$ to sit on the bench?). Jones wanted more money, he's 29-30 years old, so he leaves benson starts. I can see why they did it, unfortunately benson may be a bust.

Look at this shit:

That's TJ in NY. He still plays with a lot of emotion and gets the team fired up. Plus he is capable of a big run from time to time, benson is not.

Last night he said "Rex is the quarterback", and on the aftershow Jim Miller was saying they had him on a 2 game leash starting last night. So I think Rex will start sunday and byt the half he could be out of the game. I don't see how he could have a problem with Detroit though, so don't be surprised if we see good Rex for the first time in a year.

If we could still contend I'd want to have Griese in there, but right now I honestly don't even think we're going to win the division. So I think the only option is to leave Rex in, as much as I hate it, and pray he can figure it out by the end of the year. If he can't we need to draft a QB or find some trade bait because there's no long term answer right now.

Yeah... missing TJ is what's hurting the Bears the most. I think it's his cutback ability. Benson just doesn't have it. Having TJ there made it easier on Grossman. Now that TJ is gone teams don't have to honor the Bears running game as much. As you can see that last pick Grossman threw (which he shouldn't have) it was 3 Cowboy defenders in that area.
