That's the story that was finally revealed after 6 jokers cards (and about a million and one other albums) that were dedicated to "The Butterfly". I think the whole scheme was supposed to be that they gain a huge following, put out the sixth telling everyone of the Juggalo's to follow god, then that's their immediate ticket into heaven so they can apologise to the butterfly.

Makes ya think twice about ICP really. That's some hardcore shit never been done, that's for sure.

Come on! That's amazing that they have dupped hundreds of thousands of people into thinking that they will all goto heaven if the joker doesn't drop their balls......or whatever. I dont know, it just seems way too much of a game to me. ICP forever will get respect from me by forming such an outlandish theme to go along with their music. But it's a gimmick and i hate gimmicks.

If you really gave a listen to the music and have followed the cards and everything, you could pretty much tell they were talking about heaven/hell and that the dark carnival was just purgatory where souls go to be judged.

The point of them coming off as hatchet murderers and shit like that is that they kill "sinners" (for lack of a better term) like wife beaters, corrupt cops, racists etc. They're like the Loki of the Dark Carnival.

Isn't wearing a lot of red, painting shit on your head and FTI as a whole a gimmick also? Granted, great music comes along with it, but it's a gimmick anyhow.

Dave Matthews Band doesn't really have a gimmick. I don't particularly like them but I can't particularly hate them either, because they've got no gimmick to hate.

It's not really artsy fartsy at all. Some of it is just plain good.

And the product (the music) can't be considered the gimmick, really. I don't think they sat down and said "Let's make artsy fartsy music". It's just what they like to play.
