I'm not talking about watching that shit on TV.

I used to be your typical "fuck golf" type of person. Occasionally going to the driving range just to smash the shit out of something.

But close to a year ago a couple of my friends were talking about going (they'd been playing for quite a while) - and being that I didn't work at the time, I decided to go just to fuck around. I was instantly hooked.

I know most of you are either to gangster or genuinely have no interest in playing (I was the same way), but if you practice a little and get out there and play, there is a good chance you will like it.

Anyways, for those of you that play, discuss what clubs you use, your skill, courses played, etc.

I don't have very much but I make do. I use Taylor Made R7 irons, Nike Ignite 410 9.5 driver, a generic 5-wood (which I rarely even use), and a generic putter which I play just fine with.

I usually play at this par-62 course and my best score there was a 75 (+13) and on a full course I'm at about 90-100 range. I've been playing less than a year and I have already surpassed damn near everyone around me.

I play for my high school team. It's awesome and I'm getting better, slowly. I use Callaway Steels for woods and Titlest blades for irons, generic putter. My best score was a 38 on a part 33.

im the same as you Eth.....i have always hated it....but i was talked into going out a little over a year ago and now i am hooked too........

i golf locally in Atwater, Stevenson, Madera, and Chowchilla......

i have Ping Irons, Calloway Diablo Driver and Woods, a Wack Ass R.A.M. $10 7 wood (thats my favorite club), and a generic putter (i cant see the difference between a $10 and $200 putter).........

Oh and since i play for school we go to some nice courses. Country clubs and shit. Most popular course I've played is Serrano. I guess the tour rolls through there sometimes...

ive been playing for about a year and a half real tough. during the summer i would go like two or three times a week, alot of the times i would go by myself for 18. i have no training or instruction ive just taught myself. watching vids online, reading tips, etc. i have usually been going to elk run in maple valley wa but have been to quite a few courses like druids glen, jackson, sumner meadows, etc all over the state. ive just been upgrading my shit since i started playing. i started with some old ass clubs my dad gave me. some 20 year old blade style irons, actual wood drivers etc. now i have a taylor made tour burner driver, i have two year old nike slingshot irons i bought used at golf galaxy, i have a calloway big bertha driver, i have a brand new odyssey putter, and i bought a nike bag i found at a pawn shop but it dont have the stands on it so ima get a new one or just get my own pull cart so i can walk everytime. ive been addicted since the first couple times i went. i love it. love it more when i go by myself but i like to put money on it too when i play with folks. by the time the next season starts ima have a nice pull cart so i can walk everytime, probably a new taylor made driver too. im always under 100 now, except for the rare off day. so i generally get around 5 pars, a birdie if im lucky but i like to make sure i dont ever get anything over double bogey. shit, i fuckin am addicted to golf

I've always heard golf was expensive as hell to play on a regular basis. Could you Sicc golfers drop a list or something on the equipment and fees and what not you spend?

Im really interested because my pops was a pretty good golfer back in the day before I was born and won some trophies, was wondering if I gave the game some play I would be pretty good myself....lol

Golf is pretty dope. I started playing when I was about 12 but never really got real serious with it. I don't really want to either. I just do it for fun, most of the time I don't even keep score and if I do it's really not accurate. If I don't like a shot I just drop a ball and do it again. When I golf I try and drink a beer every two holes, with a few shots here and there. By the time I get done I'm usually pretty wasted.

I play with some older Kuunan graphite irons (cost like $800 10 years ago), a Calloway FT-3 driver, FUCK woods I'll just tee it up in the Fairway if I have to, and my putter is about 60 years old, litterally. It still gets the job done.

I golf, when I get the chance.

And anyone who says that after a year or two they are any good is a fucking liar. You may have a good round or two, but it's not something that you 'become' good at. It's something you develop over years.

Fucking liars.
