and common won that battle.... but if comm were battlin the ice cube we knew in 1991, then cube would've definately had a chance if you ask me

Yup. It really wasn't much of a "battle"--WSCG did "Westside Slaughterhouse", Common did "The Bitch In You," and there was a tiny threat in "Hoo Bangin' (WSCG Style)" but then Cube and Common squashed it at that NOI Hip Hop Summit held after Biggie got killed (early '97). Granted, Cube (and for that matter, Mack and Dub) never got a chance to make an ENTIRE song responding to "The Bitch In You", but yeah, based on what little did appear song-wise, Common won--I love Cube as much as the next Rap fan (and BOW DOWN was, and still is, a classic CD), but you have to admit that Common was right-on with a lot of the stuff he said in that song.
