Just check the credits of your favorite album and find out who mixed and mastered them. Because a person might be able to master, but if the mix is fucked the Hit Factory couldn't save that shit.

there is no "best" it depends on what type on sound your looking for mike dentens sound is very different from larry funks etc,it also depends on what what mixing board is used an ssl is more aggressive than a neve,which has a different sound than protools le or tdm or hd. also mastering should be done by someone other than the mixer,try bernie grundman sound in la,ask for brian

people can post names all day, but all i kno is, andre rivers, aka poor man dre over there at poor man studios mixed my beat for me for 30$ per hr,i only spent 30$ and it came out super clear,mix was very full and complete,and i will continue to work with this cat as long as he is still living and breathing

While you're shoppin around make sure you hit up Squirt at KLOU in Richmond too don't know how much they chargin these days but definitely worth every penny
