It don't matter if you believe in God or not, "Bless you" after someone sneezes is a superstition which came about because people thought that when you sneezed you were susceptible to evil spirits or diseases entering via an open mouth.

A person doesn't necessarily believe in God just because they say bless you, but those extra blessful folks who say "God bless you" probably do. :classic:

Wow, I didn't know that. I always thought people say it because your heart stops when you sneeze....

Yeah the heart stops for a split second, but the "bless you" was meant to ward off any evil/satanic spirits which may have entered the body while the person was sneezing.

i always thought it was "god bless you", but people said "bless you" for short. anyway, i don't say anything. i don't believe in luck, i have no superstitions, so fuck you if you sneeze.
