i put my votes in for 3 actually. music madness in watsonville, backdoor disc and tape in cotati and rasputins(berkeley). the best is music maddness tho cause you can listen to any cd in the store before you buy it. that's the only record store i know that still does that, not just used shit, any cd if it is opened or not. that is too sick. are there anymore stores like that that yall know of? let me know. and as an artist for the rappers out there, do you condone people listening to your shit before they buy it?

backdoor in cotati has alot of shit that you can't find cause it's out of print, and they ain't only limited to cali either. they got alot of stuff from the midwest and down south that's hard to find too. plus they got a used cd section with alot of stuff and even though most of the folks that work there are white, they still know about all the new shit that's out or is comin out. real good store

rasputins in concord doesnt sell alotta local stuff they took out some local shit cuz they didnt have taxes or sumfin on the c/d -n- mah brother, his boy alwayz had shit up in there n they juss told him that they cant accept his stuff.... as well as others that dont have the taxes thing? i dunno so i really dont go there anymore.... do any of you guys like sam goodie? i dont like it there to much.... they NEVER have anything there i went into s/g lookin for the ne4 c/d -n- they were like we dont carry that -n- i wasl ike wut about ne 2 then theyre like nope..... i went up stairs to camalot they had it there.... they took Sam Goodie out in Sun Valley Mall

sam goody used to be pretty good back in the day. they're too damn expensive tho, i dont think i ever seen a cd in there for cheaper than 18 bucks.

ive found some real good shit at pawn shops....undeground shit, local shit, even rare bay shit.. its cool cuz u can listen to the cd before u buy, plus the pawn shops only charge 2 or 3 bucks per cd. another tight place around here is CD/Game Exchange up in Silver Spring, MD. ive found lots of cool shit over there in the clearance section ($2.50 per cd)

when im lookin to buy a new cd, i'll usually just buy it online. the stores around here dont have much of a selection. i'll go to best buy or circuit city if i wanna buy a cd like scarface or devin, but if its something underground the stores around here most likely wont carry it -- especially west coast shit.

All Rasputins got some pretty good shit. But in my area we got The Hit Factory and Star Records up in San Jo also the Berryesa Flea MArket has some cool cd stands, California Music in Gilroy but they are hella exspensive. And Family Tree down in Hollister is pretty cool.

i like that store whats it called "mIRC" this store up in windsor got everything before it hits the stores and you can listen to if before you buy it....the manager is hella tight with me and he gives me discounts if i buy a couple cds....best of te best

some rasputins i have been to haven't been as good as others. the one in berkeley definately takes the cake as far as rasputins goes. plus amoeba's is acutually pretty fuckin sick too, the one on haight st. in frisco is better, but the one in berkeley is aiight too. if you go to that rasputins in berk. the got that fat ass store with alot of underground shit, plus amoeba's like 3 stores down, and then another tower records around the corner. i used to drive down from santa rosa just to hit them stores tho.

Street Beats in Salinas, they let you listen to anything you want before you buy it. He tries to stock any and every bay, sac and valley release that has come out. He's doing a pretty good job of it too. Face the Music in seaside is tight too.

quit smokin sherm n read it right, i didn't hope for shit......but anyways u put that smiley face and said your favorite store was "mIRC" ....u even quoted it.....as far as I know mirc is a music leeching program on the net like napster.....i don't know your area so maybe u do have a store like that , i just dont see what was so "funny" bout what u typed...
