I went to NW for 2 years and still know a lot of people up there. I was surprised as hell when Tatiannia Johnson of KZLX contacted me about booking Tech. I hope everything goes well with it and I'm gonna be up there for sure to see the show if they can work it out. The only concern I have is the location. She told me they were looking at the Charles Johnson Theatre (Capacity 500+) and the Mary Lynn Performing Arts Center (1000+). Why not use Bearcat Arena? set up the stage at the far end and have GA for the floor and sell seats in the bleachers on both sides. HAHA, maybe I should be planning this? But just to get Tech up there would be great. I was asking for this way back in 99 when i was up there. He's got a lot of fans up there, lot of people from KC and many others that have heard "Lets Get Fucked Up", "Planet Rock", "It's Alive" and "Slacker" up in the clubs. I'm sure they wont have a problem filling either the Charles Johnson Theatre or Mary Lynn.
oh yeah....you goin to the Pitt St. game next week? If they can book this November date, Thursday would be a great place to promote this dont you think?

anyway, i was told that Charles Johnson was thrown around as a concert location and was like what the fuck?!?! And while the Bearcat Arena plan sounds good you know how picky the administrators are about keeping things in order. I might mention that to my friend *writes note to self*.
I don't think the concert being in Mary Lynn is necessarily a BAD idea, but it all depends on who's allowed to come? do you know if it's supposed to be student's only? last year Sir Mix-A-Lot and Tone Loc had a concert and there was only quite a few seats open. granted those are two washed up old school rappers lol
and yes i'll be going to the Pitt State game...biggest game of the year! they're expecting AT LEAST 20,000 for NCAA Division II game. crazy right? you promote for Tech at a crowd of 20,000 and they'll HAVE to use Bearcat Arena! i'll mention that to my friend too *makes another note to self*

I just met Tatianna a week or so ago. We talked on the phone and through emails about this show. So I dont know much about her love life...haha. But yeah, I guess I wasn't thinking when I suggested Bearcat Arena...Don't think Dean Hubbard would allow something like that goin down in such a nice facility....let alone the AD, forgot his name.

k...checked the yearbook and indeed Tatianna used to date my boy Brian. i alwasy forgot her name...anyway...

for those who don't know...NWMSU was down by two touchdowns with about 2:00 left on the clock and came back to win 58-52 in FOUR OVERTIMES.
i'm gonna be able to show my kids the tape i recorded off of ESPN and show my kids i was there when they see me in the stands. i get chills thinkin about it...
