I don't think they were similar, Das EFX had different style plus Sittin On Chrome is '96 and they did their best albums in 92-93, hip-hop in 92 was different
U can always check their first two albums though, they are both classics
Hold It Down was a disappointment, except for The Real Hip-Hop there weren't many memorable tracks

only shit that sounds like Sittin On Chrome is some of the East Coast shit from 94-96 and when I say some I mean really few albums; plus Sittin On Chrome has a rather unique sound; the closest is what Da Beatminers produced for BCC in the mid 90s and, to a lesset extent, what Prince Paul was doing

Most of the artists with that sound were from Brooklyn, Ace used to call that shit Brooklyn Bass. Some of the dopest shit was the tracks Crooklyn Dodgers (Crooklyn Soundtrack) and Return of the Crooklyn Dodgers '95 (Clockers Soundtrack). That was my favorite shit back in the day, I'll post them if someone wants to hear.
