its nothing like kazaa, its hard to kno wat to call it exactly, its like a giant network of Aol chat rooms except that you download things from other people.

There are plenty of different networks to connect too, all separate from one another. So if you connected to a small network with no one on it as you said, then try another. Connect to efnet if you want to see a user count...

Current global users: 119947 Max: 129699

There is almost 120,000 people on efnet as I type this post.

its confusing but i could get that new black-c today and someone else he's putting out i would help you how to use mirc, but it's better show,than tell you

mIRC is just a client, IRC is the meduim by which users connect to networks for chatting and file sharing, which is totally FREE. Even mIRC is free, they just ask that you register your downloaded copy, and pay if you want (well maybe your "supposed" to pay, but it doesn't stop working). People are often turned away by the ugliness of the mIRC interface, but it is fully customizable..

I went in to #baytight room, when i went to the room it had a user list and the chat boxes had some really tight bay area albums. I tried to instant message users and never got a response, tried to download, I've gotten step by step FAQs on how to work this thing and I still havent got even one mp3

^^^ planetZeropat, all those users in those rooms are automated, u have to type commands and that lets you view their files. you have to add your self to the queue, then wait till you get a responce from them. Well u dont have to wait, if you have your mIRC set to accept files automaticly.

IRC is one of the best inventions the internet has ever seen. It's been around for well over a decade now.
mIRC is just the 'program' you use to connect to the specific servers. Its very easy to use once you get used to it. It took me a few months to master, now I can do whatever on it quickly.
