What's so special about this 50 cent cat (from hearing his two singles I don't think his album would be worth more than 50 cents)? Where is he from? From what I've heard he's not tight. He's got some weak simple lyrics. Am I missing anything?

Is L.L. gettin' soft now? Should we start calling him Captain L? I know he's always been known for making songs for the ladies but with these last singles it seems like he's turning into a SUCKA now. What's all this "die together, cry together" and "paradise is very nice"?

It's probably because people think he's a real thug.
year, i think that's wut it is also. i guess society's expectin bling, bling, or cristal's and hoochies in new yorks rap so when somebody cums out "thuggish", it's somethin "different". but tha thang is west coast been doin that shit since day 1. haters, haters, haters. but year, LL and ja rule need to start a group. fold.

i listened to the cd and i am feeling him fa sho. hes not
a great great rapper but hes good for all the hype. i mean
a lot of cats get hella hype and they aren't all that but
50 cent's cd wuz not a dissapointment. its bangin. the beats
are good and i can relate to his lyrics also. i like listening
to songs that i can relate to and unfortunately i can relate
to a lot of shit he talks bout. soem good some bad but i can
feel his pain.

I just don't see what's everyone gettin' hyped about this cat for. I listen to KMEL most of the day on the radio and they play his song like every six songs. I mean come on "wanksta"? "Go shorty it's your birthday"? WTF???

Yep and L.L. has just lost it these days man. I used to dig L.L. until his last singles. There's nothing wrong with making songs for the ladies but don't make yourself look like a sucka at the same time. From his lyrics he'd get taken advantage of real quick. He's making himself look like a real square. There's nothing wrong with taking care of your lady or baby momma (not ladies)

I'll have to give the album a listen. But from the two most played singles on the radio I don't see what everyone is seeing.

50 cent is a result of many music label's monopolization of the music industry.
They choose who and what gets played on the radio and TV.
They have the money, there for they control what gets played on MTV and on your local radio stations....
This commercialization then influences the masses to go out and buy their junk....

50 is just music thats out there for dudes to listen to

Most the shit out there is marketed for broads.
They buy more music, and are better fans.

Mainstream music is BUSINESS related.

LL been soft since '96.
50 cent is a tight rapper who has more songs than what you hear on the radio. He is blowing up because he is in the right place at the right time.
