I like to have one main vocal track. Then a double that I put very light in the back ground and 2 adlib tracks. So a total of 4 tracks.

I also been messen with my main vocals on 2 tracks. Ill say every other bar on each track so thevocal will bounce off each other and sound like I'm talken to myself.

What your best practice? What effects on main vocals and adlibs?

For myself I do 1 main,1 double and depending on the song I might do an adlib.Other people i record I don't really give an option 2 because some cats just like to keep rappin on top of themselves and i just end up deleting tracks anyway.Unless its an RnB artist I usually try to maintain the same format.

Depends on the voice of the artist and the track they're spittin on.... But generally speaking.....

1 Main
1 Double
2 light-weight doubles (rhyming words... ends of phrases)
1 Adlib

Panning and levels are important as well....

Most people I've heard don't even clean their tracks?! Clean that shit! Line up the vocals with the main and you'll hear a major difference.
