What You Didn't See On Raw
07/08/2008
Jim Duggan defeated Matt Striker. Boring match, Hacksaw worked off the crowd.
Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase defeated Paul London and D'Lo Brown. D'Lo got a huge pop. Good match overall, though.
After RAW went off the air, Cena got up and said New Orleans deserved more than that. He said he lived here for a while and thought that these people were most proud of where they live. JBL came out and said the United States didn't care about New Orleans. He ran in and Cena FU'ed him, everyone cheered, and he left.
The July 4th edition of Smackdown did a 1.6 rating.
Reports also indicate that Snitsky may have had his nose broken during the GTS spot with CM Punk last night on Raw. We'll keep you posted.
Vince McMahon was said to be hard on Michael Cole through the headset last week on Raw. It continued into the backstage area as well. One could probably presume that this will continue in the foreseeable future as McMahon tries to groom Cole into the next "voice of Raw". For what it's worth, I don't think Cole has done a bad job thus far given the circumstances and the huge transition that it is.
Chalk yet another one up to Vince McMahon and his crazy rib shenanigans! ProWrestling.net is reporting that Michael Cole did not know about Jim Ross interrupting his "Farewell Speech" on the Smackdown tapings in Tulsa. The segment did not air, but Cole was thinking he was going to get the same type of deal Ross got on Raw, but McMahon sent Ross out to give him the early, unexpected nudge out the door.
Jim Ross's Family Bar-B-Q business handled the catering backstage that same night. Additionally, one of his restaurants hosted an after party for WWE personnel where there was reportedly 100 people or more in attendance.
