i am thinking of trading in my

and getting a

i have worked it out and it would be very cheap for me to switch consoles and get a 360 elite with a wireless network adapter and xbox live gold,
and there are a few things i need to know before i do it

first off, is this a good idea?

what makes the 360 a better experience than the ps3?

if any of you use the wireless network adapter, is it any good?

what are the failure rates on the current 360 elites? any problems i should be aware of?

what cool features does xbox live have that psn doesnt? screenshots would help

any help will be appreciated

I have both consoles, and love them both. But like I've said in the past, if I had to choose one, it would be the 360. THe online is much better, even if you have to pay for it. You get what you pay for. And $50 a year really isn't that much money.

My brother has a wireless adapter, and he's never complained about it lagging or anything. But if you can use an ethernet cable, I'd do that. EIther way though, you'll be fine.

I've heard the Elite has a much much lower failure rate. So better to buy one of those than an Xbox Pro or Arcade.

Bottom line is, in my personal opinion, if you play games not online, get the PS3. If you like to play online and have friends that do, go with the 360.

Honestly, if I were you, I'd take some time to save up some cash, and just get both consoles. Then you're like me and get to enjoy the best of both worlds. I hate how people have to have one console and bash the other. You don't have to pick a side lol.

I would say go with both consoles if possible.

The wireless network adapter works fine, but there is a new one coming out soon.

And people who pay $50 for a year of Live don't know how to shop. They can easily be found for $30. Which makes it around $2.50 a month.

Where are those at? And I don't think it's a matter of not "knowing how to shop". I'm sure there are tons of people that don't know about that.

I would say try to have both consoles. I love having both so that I can experience the great exclusives each offers.

That said, if someone told me I had to keep one and get rid of the other, I would keep the Xbox 360. I have way more games for it and I play it a lot more. I also have more friends on 360 that are on more often.

I usually get XBL Gold off of Ebay for cheaper than retail. I don't think I've ever paid more than $35-$38 for a subscription.

I don't use the network adapter though, so no opinion on it other than it's overpriced as fuck. I would just find some ethernet cable and run it from the router to the console. It's a bit more stable and little faster as well from everything I've read/been told.

What it really comes down to is which games are on what console, and if you play online, which console will have more friends?

thanks for the replies

on ps3, most of the time i am playing call of duty

i have about 15 to 20 friends on my list but only play with 3 or 4 of them, the rest are just there because they are my friends in real life and they have a ps3 lol

its a hard choice for me because if i go with the 360 i wont have many people i know personally who i will be able to play games with.. on the other hand im always playing games online and i know that xbox live is much better than psn im also getting a bit bored of the ps3

if i stick with ps3, i'll still be able to play COD and other games with people i know, but i know that i am missing out on all the features of xbox live.. 360 also has more exclusives which interest me

Get both. I'm about to buy a PS3 for some games I've been missing out on. The 360's worth having because it works in conjunction with Windows application directly. The achievement points don't mean shit other than a rating for people to see how many you've accumulated through your gaming, but you'll be hard pressed not to get addicted to getting those achievements.

Achievement points also make you want to play the games longer and explore areas you may have otherwise not liked.
