I dont believe he actually ever released a first "album" the first single I know of had 3 songs on it.
Jackin
Creeping On a Comeup (I think)
Big June Nigga
The next release that I know of was title "Da Plug" and had
Intro
Da Plug
Night Rider
Jacking Remix
Battle Rap
He was featured on a compilation of sorts next called "Young Riders"
Young Riders (This was actually Night Rider with a different beat and a Brotha Lynch verse added. The original version was better IMHO and they removed June's 2nd verse to add Lynch)
Had To Gat Ya Remix (Lynch, I'm not sure exactly what they remixed here, it sounded exactly like Lynch's album version)
A song by a Long Beach artist called Too Sane...nothing special here
Da Plug Remix...This is actually a bit of a rip-off as it sounds like an early version of the Da Plug that was released on June's previous album. The beat is almost exactly the same except the original version has a Zapp sample which was not added to this version (probably because they added it later and released that version.) This is strictly filler IMHO
June was featured on Royal T's Coast To Coast Album on 2 songs
Serving Fools....a great song which uses the same "The Message" sample as "Check Yo Self"
Real MF's....Nowhere near as good as "Servin Fools"
Big June's new album is title "My Dagoz On". Big June's 1st tape came out at about the time I was first jumped into my neighborhood, so its kind of a nostalgia thing for me. I actually bought it from June himself. I was really looking forward to this album and well.....I was pretty disappointed with it...I'm assuming by his lyrics that he has done some time and seems to have experimented with a few different lyrical styles. He does some crappy singing and WAAY too much songs about women. Gone is the underground gangsta shit that made his first albums so cool. The only plus to the CD is 3 songs from his earlier releases that were previously hard to find on CD. If anyone has "Da Plug" on CD OR the 1st album on CD or Cassette please e-mail me at
[email protected] as I would be willing to purchase them. IF anyone has any other Big June songs from his early years that I dont know of, please e-mail me or list them here, I am very interested in purchasing them. As for his latest album......It will make a good coaster. I'll stick with Lil CS, Cricet, Mitchy and the rest to keep me supplied with that Southeast Dago Gangsta Music.
