"Real" is relative. If someone can relate to 2 Chainz, he's probably the realest out to them. If someone can relate to Mac Miller, he's the realest out to them. Boom-bap beats and underground appeal don't make it hip-hop to me, I just call that contemporary.

Unfortunately, you are incorrect. Both of these songs are hip-hop. There are several sub-genres of hip-hop, however (pop to gangsta).
Real hip-hop is hip-hop that the artist made with the purpose of expressing himself. Fake hip-hop is hip-hop that was made mostly with generating sales in mind and that calculation figured prominently in the creative process. Note that this definition makes no reference whatsoever to style, substance or quality. I have very good reasons to think that the tracks I posted are classified well by such a definition

"REAL" HIP HOP IS SOMETHING THE OLD HEADS USE TO DOWNPLAY THE MUSIC THAT'S OUT TODAY... BY SAYING TODAY'S MUSIC ISN'T REAL HIP THEY TRY TO LESSEN THE VALUE OF THE MUSIC BECAUSE IT'S NOT WHAT THEY WERE DOING BACK IN THE DAY... JUST FURTHER SHOWS HOW MUCH AT ODDS WE ARE WITH EACH OTHER WHERE WE HAVE TO DOWNPLAY MUSIC FROM OUR PEOPLE BECAUSE THE OLDER GENERATION DOESN'T THINK IT'S REAL... BUT THATS LIKE ANYTHING ELSE... OLDER FOLKS DON'T LIKE THE WAY YOUNGER FOLKS GO ABOUT DOING ANYTHING...
