Being that a lot of artist today usually have features on their albums / songs / singles.

If the artist features another artist to sing the hook, but is still carring all 3 verses. Is that considered a solo by certain standards in your opinion?

I consider personally a real solo album is when you got 3 or 4 features and at least 11 solo tracks BY YOURSELF.

Nowadays you might as well just consider everything a compilation.
for example the new Jacka - Tear Gas. Don't get me wrong im looking foward to it. But the might as well be a compilation from the track list i seen.

I think it get's rather boring listening to one voice for over 6 - 7 minutes on an album. Although, it depends cause few artist know how to carry it well.

In my opinion, if the artist carries all 3 verses and has a featured hook. I consider that pretty much a solo for the most part. It shows the artist wrote his 3 verses and didn't depend on somebody else to cover the remainder 36 bars.

A SOLO ALBUM FOR EXAMPLE IS MESSY MARV- "DISOBAYISH"

A ALBUM LIKE MESSY MARV AND GUCE- "BULLYS WIT FULLYS" ISNT A SOLO ALBUM

A SONG THAT HAS SOMEONE ON THE CHORUS OR SOMEONE ON A VERSE IS NOT A SOLO

SOLO MEANS BY YOURSELF.

AND REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY FEATURES YOU HAVE ITS STILL A SOLO ALBUM AS LONG AS YOUR PRESENTING THE ALBUM BY YOURSELF. UNLESS YOUR PRESENTING A COMPILATION. OF SOME SORT THEN FOR EXAMPLE IT WOULD BE YOUNG DROOP PRESENTS " BOOTLEGZ IND COLLECTIONS.

GET IT

^ NA!.. IF THERES AN FEAT. ON THE SONG OR ON THE TRACKLIST ITS NOT A SOLO.

IF SOMEONES ON THE SONG WITH YOU ITS NOT A SOLO. PERIOD. UNLESS ITS A SAMPLE.

A SOLO IS BY YOURSELF. REGARDLESS IF ITS 1 VERSE OR 10 VERSES.

No period, homeboy. It's only your opinion; not the only one in the world.

To me there's a solo song if you perform all verses on your own. Unless there's a very long chorus performed by someone else, like on that Equipto & Mike Marshall cd. But it mostly doesn't happen. So... if you have a track with Levitti or Harm in the chorus it's a solo track. And I wouldn't even list this hook artist as a feature, as it's misleading for a reader, it should be listed as "background vocals" to me.

I feel you, if its another rapper on tha song just doing a hook it can be kinda misleading. But a singer, in my opinion, should be listed as a feature. Even if they are just on the hook. If people see a singer is featured on tha song, I think they pretty much get tha point.

I think we are getting a little too politically correct in here.

It's like when artist refer to a single / each song as a "record" (Pronounced: Wreck-ord). What year is it? 1979? Or the word "Album". That is what is refered to as a vinyl record way back in the day. It's actually a "Disc", "COMPACT DISC" A.K.A. "CD" at that, but who really gives a shit? We all know what the fuck we are talking about.

Rules were ment to be bent & sometimes broken, so just state you opinions. Don't try and correct each other.

Every muthaphucka I've ever known in my life and in here speaks with a slang, but wants to be politically correct on this matter..GTFOH!

And this is HAN SOLO!

And here he is with Chewbacca, but he's still HAN SOLO!

LMAO!
