Ok..there's alot of white people who says theyre totally against racism and all that. But let me ask yall a question...
If the world was the way it was back in the early-mid 1900's, when black was gettin treated like animals, would it even matter to yall? Would yall be the ones taking a stand, or would you not have a problem with it?
I ask this because its easy for a white person now a days to say theyre against it since the war against racism is almost a done deal and the minorities are winning. Its easy to jump on the winning team. But if racism against blacks was as strong as it was back then, would yall take a stand against it or would you not give a damn?

you do realize that a lot of people are racist because of when/where they were brought up. so to say you couldn't be racist in that time period can't be totally accurate.

Me, growing up in St. Louis, a city that was more liberal than others in that time period, and looking at how my grandparents were raised, i would have to say i would not be racist, i would take a stand.

But Shep...U gotta know this too. It was alot people who claimed not to be racist back then to, but they didnt take a stand either. They didnt have no complaints about it because they had the upper hand, ya feel me?

How many white people weren't, one percent? One half of one percent?

The point of this thread eludes me Sinista. It's a kind of fucked if you do, fucked if you don't situation. If a white person says no, they wouldn't have been racist, then what have you done to help Black America lately? Nevermind that you're just trying to be successful in your own life.

If a white person says yes, then obviously they are a racist white devil and that's the end of it.

All I can say is no one knows how they would have reacted in the past because truth is they didn't know how it was back then. The actual environment. Things are different now .....

Given the situation today and the race barrier in today's world. There's a few white people who probably wouldve took a stand if they wouldve known shyt would be the way it is today. But back then, none took a stand because they probably felt that things would never change.

If I was born into that time and environment, I would more then likely share the same mentality as those who raise me. If my father owned slaves and taught me the beliefs held by white's, then of course I would follow. Many white supremacists today are that way because their family's taught them these things at a very young age. It's like religion. Look at a mormonism for example. This is one of the most dedicated religions I have ever seen in this country. What if these people, as kids, were raised by a catholic family?

If I went into that time, with the mentality that I have right now, I would die freeing slaves.

Thats how I meant for the question to be answered. But youre right about the parents passin racism down to their kids. You got these supremasist group out here today that dont know what they hate us for, they just hate because their parents does. To tell you the truth, whites back in those days had no reason to hate us, we didnt do them nothin.
