I support SD by listening to local artists and by wearing nothing but SD gear. You'll NEVER catch me wearing a NY hat, Boston hat, NO other team's gear. My intention is to REP SD and nothing, but SD.

SD Born & Raised. Grew up going to Encanto Boyz Club until i was 9 (they banned me) & SouthCrest/Ocean View/Willie Henderson (4 5 Park). Played Pop Warner for Valencia Park. Went to Mount Miguel HS. At the Mount I convinced the principle to let me throw a Talent Show my senior Year (2002) after he swore there will never be another one. Had people from all over there too!!!

Moved down South to pursue financial obligations and give school a chance. All the while reppin Daygo, nicknamed "Kayo from Daygo" or some called me "Kayo Felony" b kuz of Jayo and we both from the town. Didn't really like that tho. Repped this Daygo shit everywhere, Dallas, ATL, Minneapolis, Chicago, Daytona Beach, Houston, Kansas City, etc. Turned I don't kno how many people on to Damu & Mitchy Slick all over the map. Started my Label "On Fyre Entertainment, LLC" at 19 (2003). Got arrested at a Charger vs Raider Game selling my CD's in 2004.

Dropped my first Solo project "Konfessions Of A Kriminal" in 2006 down south and repped Daygo all over it. Moved units in ALL the cities i mentioned above. Dropped "One Hundred Percent Hustle" last December and had it professionally pressed by March and moved 5,000+ units hand to hand by myself and wit my nighas Young Mass, Play B, Fore, Markus, and had some of my broads movin em too from Fam- Mart, to Downtown, to Chula Vista, to Oceanside to AZ, to Minneapolis, MN, to LA, to Kansas City.

Put together the Daygo Unity Concert as you all kno, and still debating if I'll do the compilation, if my sponsors still fuckin wit me..... And I'm still gonna keep holdin it down for my city. I'm "The hardest working nigha you never heard of"

This is a good thread...interesting topic, something I haven't seen before. May open people's eyes to the lifestyle, culture, and positive of the city and what it's proud citizens are doing.

I've always enjoyed SD music as much as any other area, and probably more so than most of the ''hot spots''...the feeling behind it is incredible.

SD artist that gets the most rotation from me?

\/\/

But I would be very interested any learning of other talent in the city, especially Mexican rappers.

Good shit, Gas.

good shit, i got a uncle who stays by manzana.i remember there used to be entrance over by the 54 freeway then they closed that shit off.

anyways, im gonna contribute to more to this thread:

i grew up in logan, mostly hanging out at memorial park. i wasnt there to bang or cause trouble, i was playing baseball. Most the dudes i grew up playing with are either RIP or incarcerated. As i got into my teen years i started writing graffiti as i think everyone else did back in the day. In my hood it wasnt the cops we were running from it was the gangstas. Later i starting hanging with more and more hoodsters and gainging respect (wont elaborate on that) but at the same time still playing baseball. I got a scholarship offer to play at fresno state right after my junior year. The summer before i started my senior year i went to Hermosillo, Mexico to play on a mexican traveling team. One game i ruptured a disc in my back doing a "pete rose" into second base..that was pretty much the beginning of the end there. i got back to the hood and started really hanging. At 23 my son was born. At 24 i married my babies mom and bought my first house in nestor by southwest high school( where i now live) at 28 i bought a condo in eastlake right on the lake which i rent out. im now 31 and basically just a family man. i manage my sons little league team, which i guess is my contribution to the city and to the youth......til this day though i still support dago rap 100% back from lil robs mexican gangsta lp, to gangsta ern, aztec tribe and legion of doom. i will always buy/support dago music and spread it as much as i can.

i got people at work going clack clack clack when they see me, cuz i listen to Mitchy Slick. Is that cool or what? Just got my homies from the south sayin yeah dat they see me. They just hear the music in my ride thats it. They all know about Slick over here. But the DJ's at the local clubs wont play em. They do play that Diego to the Bay from the Messy Slick cd once in a while. Only when they spin the 10 minute westcoast routine. Kinda sucks how they play the westcoast for a short amount of time. And its always the same shit: Gin n Juice, Dre Day, California Love, Foe Life etc.
