What dummy came with the argument that if you don't vote you can't complain? I just had a convo with my oldest sister and mother, and my sister asked me if I was voting. I said no and she was shocked. I then told her the same way atheists feel about religion I feel about voting. She then starts telling me about some atheists in prison came to her prison church thing that she does every week (she has a prison ministry.) So I told her they probably weren't true atheists, or even if they were, wanted to learn more to possibly make them more firm in their beliefs. Then she says if I don't vote I can't complain. Thats when I started to run it down to her that voting was not some mandate or requirement to voicing my views or disdain for the way things go in this country.

Long story short, she started saying some crazy shit that I couldn't even here and I saw my mom agreeing with her lol.

This election has a lot of people losing their minds.

LOL

If someone created a "Don't Vote" or "Vote and Die" type campaign I would contribute.

It cracks me up how people get sooo offended and flabbergasted when you say you are not voting, like they single handedly defeated the Germans/Cubans/Russians just so I could vote. I have been hearing it all damn day.

same here, i had one cat talk about how uneducated people.... in terms of politics shouldnt vote, then encouraged me to vote. my political education is pretty much just talking shit to obama supporters on siccness. so his encouragement was counterproductive to his cause. made me laugh a little.

I don't care if you don't vote. Go ahead and complain away, it's probably what you are good at, complaining. Don't get mad when I talk Supreme Shit though. Cause I know I did vote and my vote helped so I'm gonna talk BIG shit while you just sit and complain.
President Barack H. Obama 4 Life!!!

I heard this arguement made many times in the past... it's ridiculous - It's your right as a citizen to choose not to vote.

^^^IT'S NOT A RIGHT!!! IT'S A POORLY MADE DECISION, IN SOME CASES!!!
Uhhhhh...actually it IS a right not to vote. No where is there a law that says "as an American citizen, YOU MUST VOTE."

THe very freedom this country provides is the reason I DONT VOTE. So blame your beloved America for backing MY RIGHT to do as a i please, which also provides me the right to COMPLAIN.

RIGHT HERE:

Amendment XV
Section 1. The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.

SOURCE: http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/constitution.amendmentxv.html

NOWHERE IN THERE DOES IT SAY THAT YOU HAVE THE "RIGHT"
AS AN AMERICANNOT TO VOTE!!!
YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE, BUT NOT TO VOTE, IS JUST
WHAT IT IS, AGAIN A POORLY MADE DECISION!!!

I think it's a poorly made decision to pick one of two candidates if you feel that neither represents you and your views. But that is just my opinion.

I NEVER SAID THAT THE CONSTITUTION SAID "YOU MUST VOTE"!!!

BUT JUST BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE NOT TO VOTE, DOESN'T MAKE IT A "RIGHT"!!!

IT'S JUST A POORLY MADE DECISION IN SOME CASES!!!
Youre basing what is "right" on pure opinion? Please tell me you are joking.

A 17 year old girl living in poverty getting pregnant...is a poor decision. Deciding NOT to vote becuase you dont agree with either idiot...is NOT a poor decision.

BTW, the consitution always says that any american can bare arms...does that mean if you dont own a gun, its a poor decision as well????

NO I'M NOT BASING WHAT I STATED OFF MY OPINION!!!

I BASED IT OFF THE CONSTITUTIONAL BILL OF RIGHTS!!!

BUT IF YOU NOTICED IN MY COMMENT YOU QUOTED, I STATED
"IN SOME CASES"!!!
MEANING, IF YOU KNOW ALL ABOUT THE CANDIDATES AND
YOU DECIDE NOT TO VOTE BASED ON A HYPOTHESIS, THEN TO ME
THAT IS NOT A POORLY MADE DECISION, BUT IF YOU DON'T VOTE
JUST CAUSE YOU REALLY DON'T CARE, OR YOU HAVE AN OPINION
ON THE CANDIDATES THAT ARE NOT VALIDATED....
THAT MY FRIEND IS A POORLY MADE DECISION, NOT A RIGHT!!!

the real sad part is you are limiting your own existance and things such as "the right to complain" by following another mans idea.
without the constitution you would be nothing.
