DAYUM R8R U GOT ALL THE OG COPIES, GOOD SHIT.

I ALWAYS FELT "IT'S NOT WHAT U SAY, IT'S HOW U SAY IT" WAS COO, BUT ALOTTA PEEPS SLEPT ON IT. BUT THIZZLE WASHINGTON GRABBED EVERYONE'S ATTENTION. THAT WAS THE BEGINNING OF THE NEW ERA.

THERE'S STILL ALOTTA PEEPS WHO STILL ONLY LIKE THE OLD SHIT THOUGH.

Yea, I think it was Thizzelle that brought him to the forefront again...

There were hella maw'fuckas who didn't even listen to Bay rap that got that album when it came out.

But IMO, Dre's overall best album the past few years was Al Boo Boo.

its sad that its not untill a great man dies, that he gets recognicion. i would have to go with old school answer Rompolation, thats what really got him his name in the bay area. thizzle got him his name in the whole state of california. and trill tv is whats he is known for nation wide.

Im not trying to start shit with ya so dont take this the wrong way. HE was FINALLY getting his shine back when he was taken from this world. He was making moves and getting the recognition BEFORE his untimely death....

what do you mean by brought him back ? the first album he released after he got out the pen was the rompilation right ? imma have to go with that. to me he never left. even if he put out an album that i didnt think was as good as a previous one, i would always cop for two reasons. the first was its Mac Dre. the second is i knew that there would be something on the album that i would like.

his appearance on dubee's album was before the romp. so i would say thats what brought him back to the people that already listened to him. i think thizzelle washington was the album that expanded his fan base.

since we are excluding the romp 1 from this discussion, I would definitely have to say Stupid Doo Doo Dumb.. I was livin in OC during 98-99 and I would bump the fuck out that shit in my ride... Fools took notice and was wonderin who in the fuck is that your bumpin?
I'm pretty sure that the first track "Lifes a bitch" set the stage for the rest of the album.. To me all the MD discs got rotation, so i can't really single out one particular disc that brought him back. I will say this though.. I think DRE was watchin over us last weekend cause we went to this lil place called the Poppy Lounge in Pleasanton... My boy walked to the Dj and asked him to play a song of dre's.. dude say alright.. my other boy went up to him and told him the same.. about 40 mins later the words came on "When I pull up to the light, the people all stare" It gave me the chills and I had the wierdest feeling man.. I'm on crutches so obviously I can't dance, but please believe my boys set it off...The dj followed it up with thizz dance... I know Dre said "Yuk gets the party started" but this nite Dre definitely got the party started.. one love, to nobody..

RIP DRE

In terms of expanding his fan base further than it previously been, I'd have to agree with those who cited THIZZELLE WASHINGTON--and that's mainly because "The Thizzelle Dance" got a lot of attention (i.e. some radio play, etc.) for that CD, whereas I seem to remember that the few CDs that came before that (IT'S NOT WHAT YOU SAY, MAC DRE'S THE NAME, HEART OF GANGSTA...) didn't make much of a buzz apart from MD's normal fanbase picking them up (although all three of them had songs that COULD have become radio hits, IMHO). Just my opinion, though.

R.I.P. Mac Dre

PEACE!

I don't know which album...but i was just noticing on his newest albums how good he really is. He has skills that he never had before, it's weird. He really was at his all time best before he died.
