This guy R.C. (I think his name is Ryan Croon) seems like his beats are on just about everybody's albums. What do you guys think of him, and who are your favorite NW beat makers (BESIDES D-Sane)?

The reason I'm askin is...

...that I really think there aren't many good beatsmakers out there. I've been real disappointed with the production on like the last 15 local albums I've got. Seems that bad production doesn't really give the rapper a chance, even if he's dope as fuck.

The guy R.C., he has made a couple beats I like (especially Self Tightld's 1st album), but I really ain't feelin the guy. His beats are always complicated as hell, too many sounds. It's like he doesn't know when to say "enough is enough" and leave it at that. There's just so many fuckin sounds, he really doesn't give the rapper's a chance it seems. Maybe bad beats is what holds the NW back, not bad spitters.

So what's up with R.C. and NW beatmakers in you guy's opinion?

.....

Ryan Croone and Beezie both got tight ass beats like D-Sane said, they pretty much have something on just about every local release out, wish they had like they own set of artists and started a label.....Funkdaddy got some beats at times too, sometimes some of his beats just sound similiar though..

Beezie is pretty much on Ramos Records, does all of the production for and is also a featured artist in NO GOOD. They have a new album out too....it's called "No Good Therapy" or somethin' like that. This is their 3rd album.

And yeah....Funkdaddy is tight too. I feel you though....you can only remake "More Bounce to the Ounce" and other funk classics so many times. He gave us a heater for Sarkastik's album though!

I think "I" got some tight shit!! fuck the dumb shit, The only reason D-Sane did production on my album is because my computer crashed and I lost all of my "Fruity Loops"!!

Yeah...

Naked Man really has the Bare essentials to a Flashy beat.

I do agree there is some bunk production out there... you just gotta know where to find it.

I've heard some of Kraneum's beats that I like. Then there's a few by this one cat, Sam... he's got heat. D-Sane's got some fuckin' slumps fo' dat ass. Then there's my boy, Isaac at Undercaste... he's got some heat. An Miguel from Red Eye, he's came with some pretty tight Sample ish.

You gotta look around, there's actually some cool shit comin' out, but there's always that whack whackest floatin' around too.

That's some of the truest shit right there. In most cases, when it comes to independant artists, they are to eager to get the album done that they don't really care too deeply about the beats. They'll go purchase a package of like 8 beats for $500, just to the album done... that's not the smartest move right there. You gotta be choosey about beats, there's a big chunk of people who don't even take in the lyrics, they just fel the beats. Lyrics aren't even half of what an album should be about, a good album atleast.
